NEW RELEASE REVIEW – King’s Reign by Nina Levine

Title: King’s Reign
Author: Nina Levine
Series: Sydney Storm MC #6
Release Date: May 31, 2018

The epic conclusion to King’s story.

I was chasing pure darkness.
Succumbing to the needs I’d forced to the far edges of my soul.
Running like a madman towards evil.
Then I found her.
She breathed life into me when I hadn’t thought there was any life beyond what I knew.
She gave me hope after I’d forgotten what it was.
She helped quiet the demons raging deep inside me.
Now I will lay myself bare for her.
I will bleed for her.
I will love her madly, deeply, passionately, completely.

King and Lily’s story comes to a heart-pounding conclusion in King’s Reign, the final novel in the Sydney Storm MC series. Delivering plenty of sizzle and brimming with unexpected emotion, King’s Reign had me firmly in its grip from the first page to the last. I loved King and Lily’s connection in this novel. While their chemistry was as electric as ever, their emotional bond seemed more profound and more genuine this time around. Despite the danger surrounding the club, King and Lily were inevitably drawn to one another, and the resultant push and pull was utterly addictive. I enjoyed seeing King so thoroughly unraveled as Lily broke through the darkness and pulled pieces of this enigmatic man into the light. King turned out to be so much more than I ever could have imagined and I loved finally getting to explore this character.

“Sometimes two people just weren’t meant to be together. Sometimes there was more hate than love, more war than peace. Sometimes love wasn’t enough.”

Since this book brings the storyline to a close, there are a lot of players to keep track of. Admittedly, I could have used a few reminders as to what roles certain characters had played throughout the series in order to really appreciate the direction this book took. However, Nina Levine definitely didn’t leave readers disappointed, serving up a satisfying ending to King and Lily’s journey. The reappearance of some familiar faces reminded me exactly what it means to be part of the Storm MC, and my heart felt right at home alongside the couples I’ve gotten to know throughout this series. Nina Levine effortlessly balances the raw, gritty angst of this story with plenty of delicious tension and a few beautifully tender moments. The writing was gripping, emotional, and delightfully feisty, ensuring I was entirely invested in King and Lily. Fans of the Sydney Storm MC series are in for one last wild ride with King’s Reign!

RELEASE DAY BLITZ & GIVEAWAY – King’s Wrath by Nina Levine

Title: King’s Wrath
Author: Nina Levine
Series: Sydney Storm MC #5
Release Date: April 30, 2018

Finally meet the enigma that is King.

Our love wasn’t like everyone else’s.
There wasn’t a first date or flowers and gifts.
We didn’t have a song or cute nicknames for each other.
There were no calls during the day to check in with me, no coming home to cook me dinner, and no foot massages at the end of a long day.
That wasn’t how he loved.
But love me he did.
Madly, deeply, passionately, completely.
King loved with everything he had.
He just loved a little differently to most.

This is King’s story. From the beginning. All the ugly and all the beautiful, by the end of this duet you will come to understand the man behind the club.

King’s story will be told over two books – King’s Wrath & King’s Reign.

Nina Levine delivers the first part of King’s long-awaited story with this intense new addition to the Sydney Storm MC series. King’s Wrath is nothing I ever could have anticipated and yet everything I had hoped for. The journey Nina Levine begins in this novel is gripping and raw, perfectly capturing the ferocious enigma that is the Sydney Storm MC president. A twisted story that is only just getting started, prepare yourself for a few surprises as this book takes readers back to the beginning with King. The perfect mix of dark deeds, unexpected feeling, and electrifying chemistry, this novel dives deeper than ever before and promises to leave readers utterly addicted and begging for more.

“We loved each other too much. Too fiercely. Too fucking savagely. We would never survive this kind of love.”

King’s Wrath chronicles King’s path to Storm and his climb to club president, before picking up where the events of Hyde’s Absolution left off. King’s history was gritty, dark, and revealing, laying the groundwork for the MC man that inspires both fear and inexplicable intrigue. Nina Levine thoroughly surprised me as she unraveled King over the course of this story, demonstrating the breadth of his emotional turmoil and the depth of his personal pain. There was also a surprisingly compassionate and careful side to this mysterious biker that had only ever been hinted at before. It was this beautiful dichotomy that had me falling hard and fast for King.

“The worst kind of betrayal comes from those you love.”

While King’s Wrath is not a love triangle, two women consume King in this book: Ivy, his first love and biggest regret, and Lily, a new face with a fierce heart. While fundamentally different, both women are stubborn, outspoken, and push King in ways he’s powerless to deny. Nina Levine did a fantastic job developing both of these characters to be clear individuals with distinct voices and I’m curious to see where she plans on taking Ivy and Lily as the storyline progresses. Together with King’s siblings who exposed his tender, more thoughtful side, they helped reveal the man I always knew was buried beneath the ink and anger.

“As fast as we’d begun, we were done. And I was reminded once more that the journey through life was best taken alone.”

Storm MC is definitely back and ready for war in King’s Wrath. Readers will not be disappointed with glimpses of series favorites throughout the book. Nina Levine manages to make diving back into her MC world feel effortless and I was instantly right at home again with Storm. Paced to be devoured, this book had me riveted. Nina Levine’s writing absolutely enraptured, dripping with vibrant imagery and the kind of raw emotion that evokes a visceral response in the reader. I felt this one all the way through and I can’t wait to get my hands on what is sure to be the heart-pounding conclusion to this story. King’s journey was every bit as captivating, infuriating, and full of surprises as the man himself and its only just beginning.

Welcome to some of Nina Levine’s #LifeIsMessy flash fiction. She writes these pieces when she’s struggling for words or trying to warm up her writing brain and shares them in her Facebook reader group. Sometimes the characters are familiar, other times they’re brand new. These pieces are just for fun, but you never know when one will turn into something more. To celebrate the launch of ESCAPE WITH AN ALPHA, Nina has written us an exclusive #LifeIsMessy bonus scene featuring Hyde and Monroe from Hyde’s Absolution!

Hyde

My gaze landed on Monroe’s ass the minute I stepped through the front door of her tattoo parlour.

Fuck.

Not a productive way to start the afternoon. Not when I had shit to get back to for King after I fixed her plumbing problem.

She straightened and turned at the sound of the bell chiming as I entered. A smile lit her face as she came my way. I’d never grow tired of that smile. Or those lips. “I’m going to make this worth your while tonight.” Her hands came straight to my chest before sliding down my body to my jeans. “Or maybe now. My next appointment isn’t for another hour, and Fox won’t be in until then, so we’ve got some time to kill.”

I clamped my hand over hers to slow her down. The last fucking thing I needed was her hand around my dick. “It’ll have to wait till tonight, Red. King needs me out on a job after this.”

She pouted. “He always ruins my fun. I can be quick.”

My mouth curled up in amusement. “You don’t know the meaning of a quick fuck.”

“I’m a woman of many talents, tiger,” she said with a sexy grin, her fingers working my belt. “I just haven’t chosen to bless you with a quick fuck yet.”

“Fuck,” I muttered, grabbing her hand again. “I’m just trying to get through the fucking day here, Roe. King’s busting my ass—I’m looking at about six straight hours of work to get through everything he wants done—so as much as sinking my dick in that sweet pussy of yours sounds like the best offer I’ve had all day, I don’t have time for it.”

She cocked her head. “You’ve had other offers today?”

Monroe was fucking lethal when it came to my restraint. When she stood in front of me dressed to kill like she was today, with sexy shit falling out of her mouth, there was no way I could resist her.

Wrapping my hand around her arm, I dragged her to the office. Kicking the door closed behind us, I pushed her up against it and claimed the kiss I needed more than anything. Being balls deep inside Monroe was a favourite place of mine to be, but more than that, I craved the connection to her that kissing gave me.

She looped her arms around my neck as she kissed me back, and when I finally let her lips go, she sighed. “I need to keep an eye out for customers.”

I reached for the bottom of her dress. “You have a bell on the front door.”

“Sometimes it doesn’t work. We need to open this door.”

I stopped what I was doing and met her gaze. “You want me to fuck you, Red? Or you wanna stand here and argue about the fucking door?”

“I want you to fuck me. With the door open.”

“Every surface of this office is covered with shit. It’s a fucking mess in here. Where do you suggest I fuck you?” There wasn’t even a spare wall to slam her up against. If she had a better option, I was all fucking ears, but from where I stood, this was the only place.

The heat in her eyes cooled, and she took a step away from me. “There’s plenty of places. You’re just being an ass now because of last night.”

I dropped my head for a moment and blew out a frustrated breath. She’d referenced the fight we’d had last night, which was becoming a recurring argument between us. The mess Monroe created in our bathroom with her makeup was in complete contrast to the rest of our home, which she kept obsessively clean. And I wasn’t a fan of it. Having to move shit all the time irritated the fuck out of me. After we’d argued over it last night, she’d hinted that I should sleep on the fucking couch, which I’d ignored. No fucking way was I going a night without her.

Looking back up, I said, “Not everything is about something else, Monroe. This has nothing to do with your mess at home.”

Her eyes widened. “I’ve told you—that’s not a mess! It’s—”

Jesus, this was the last thing I had time for today. I opened the door so I could go fix her plumbing and then get back to work. “I’m not getting into another fight with you about it.”

“What you like to call a mess in our bathroom is not a mess. I need to see all my makeup so I know what my options are. And don’t you walk away from me while we’re discussing something. You know I hate that.”

I was three steps out of her office, but halted my progress. She had a point—we both hated being walked away from. Turning back to face her, I raked my fingers through my hair and said, “I can’t win here, no matter what I say. And I don’t want a repeat of last night where you wouldn’t let me touch you. So let’s not get into this.”

“If we don’t get into it, we’re never going to settle it. I just want you to understand why I have all my stuff spread out in the bathroom.”

“I will never understand that. It makes no sense to me. Organise it into some containers or put it in the cupboards.”

“Ugh, men! You drive me crazy some days.”

“The feeling’s fucking mutual. Now, can I get to work so we can both go back to our day?”

She stared at me for a long few moments before saying, “Fine. But just so you know, I’m already feeling like a repeat of last night might happen again, so feel free to take your time getting all your work done this afternoon.”

“Fucking hell, Monroe,” I muttered as I closed the distance between us. Sliding my arm around her waist, I pulled her hard against my body. “I love you, but you don’t just drive me crazy some days—you fucking drive me to distraction. I can’t get enough of you, even when you’re arguing with me. Just so you know, I’ll be getting through that work as fast as fucking possible and then I’ll be coming home to finish what you started here. I don’t give a flying fuck if I break some of your shit, I’ll be clearing some space in our bathroom to fuck you on that vanity, exactly how you like it. And then I’m going to have you in the shower with all your toys. So go home after work and get ready for that, because there’s no fucking way it’s not happening.”

Heat flared in her eyes again. “Wait, you’re worried about breaking my stuff?”

“Yeah. Why do you fucking think I want that shit packed up?”

A smile spread out across her face and her body softened against mine. “Well why didn’t you say that?”

I’d never fucking understand women.

Fucking never.

“Fuck, Red, get your ass back in that office. No fucking way can I wait until tonight to have you.”

She continued smiling. “Sometimes you say the exact right thing, tiger.” And with that, she finally did what I wanted her to do.

PoP: We’re big fans of biker book boyfriends which is how we discovered your novels. What drew you to writing MC romance?

Nina: I was writing Madison’s story and she was the daughter of the MC president and J was just supposed to be a biker friend, but the minute he showed up on the page, the chemistry between them took over and I realised I had to write a story about them. Turned out, I loved writing bikers because they were completely alpha, dirty, bossy and could pretty much say and do anything that was over the top. I also loved being able to explore the darker side of life. And Sons of Anarchy was one of my favourite TV shows, so I had awesome inspiration!

PoP: You’ve written a lot of fierce, sexy, and unforgettable couples. If you had to choose, which couple is your favorite and why?

Nina: This question is so hard to answer!! I have a few favourites, but if I had to choose one couple, it would be Nitro & Tatum. I loved that they were both so hardened by life and didn’t open up easily. They both had to work to get the other to allow them in, and they both had to come to terms with themselves and make some big changes to grow. I know all my couples do this, but it felt like Nitro & Tatum fought this the most. And that’s what I love about writing – watching that struggle to grow and make changes. It’s life, and we’re all flawed and make mistakes and either learn from them or stay stuck. I love exploring that, and I’m finding that my writing is evolving more and more into digging deeper into human flaws and creating imperfect characters who sometimes are a struggle to like.

PoP: Your Storm MC and Sydney Storm MC series are thrilling, hot, and full of surprises and yet each novel also stands apart in its own way. Which book was the easiest to write? Which was the hardest?

Nina: Havoc was the easiest to write. He and Carla just fell onto the page. I know this may be hard to believe 😉 but up until I wrote the first half of Havoc (which was just after I wrote Revive), I’d kind of censored my bikers. When they said or did something that I thought may have stretched the dirtiness a little too far, I pulled them back. I deleted a lot of dirty stuff and toned it down. But with Havoc, I just let him and Carla be as dirty as they wanted. And that was fun! Carla was especially fun to write because of the fact I didn’t censor her. My hardest book to write has hands down been King’s book (and it’s still not finished because of this!). It’s no secret that I’ve struggled with my writing since my mother passed away, but I’m doing much better with that now. However, I’m still finding King’s Wrath hard to write because of all the intricate plots I’ve got going on. Weaving in his life story plus all the club issues that have been going on for the entire series has been much harder than I ever anticipated. I thought I may struggle with King himself (getting him exactly right) but that hasn’t been a problem at all. He’s been in my head since 2014 and he is the character of mine who I know the best. I pretty much know him inside out and I don’t ever struggle with knowing how he would react to a certain situation, so he just falls onto the page. It’s just everything else going on that is making this a difficult book to write. I’ve also had to write his woman a few times now to get her right. I played with writing the book entirely in his POV also, but decided for the story to work best I wanted her POV in there too. So yeah, this book has been a journey! I’m aiming to finish writing his first book soon! And fingers crossed his second book flows much easier.

PoP: You seem to enjoy writing complicated, brooding alphas with filthy minds and even filthier mouths. Were you always comfortable getting down and dirty with your book boyfriends or was it something you had to grow into?

Nina: LOL at the filthy. Yes, I love writing that! I remember writing the first sex scene between J & Madison and blushing while I wrote it. Afterwards, I was like “huh, that was actually fun!”. By the time Nash’s book came, I was completely good with writing the filthy side of my men.

PoP: When you first hit publish on Storm, did you ever imagine you’d have two series worth of deliciously dirty bikers out in the world? What did you originally have in mind with J, Madison, and the rest of the Storm MC crew?

Nina: I had no idea that this is where I would be now! I didn’t plan that first series in the beginning. I simply wrote Storm and put it out there and went with the flow. That book did extremely well and readers were excited for a second book, so I wrote Scott’s book. I wasn’t sure what possessed me to say I’d write his next because in Storm he was a complete ass lol! I didn’t even really like him in that first book. But I ended up loving writing his story and fell in love with his character. However, the night before I was to publish his book, my friend called me up and told me that she hated him. She’d read his book and told me he was a complete dick and the kind of guy that never grows up. I appreciated her honest feedback but was then completely confused about how to proceed. I mean, it was too late then to change him when I had to publish the book the next day. And besides that, I actually personally loved his character. So I went with my gut and I hit publish the next day. I felt so sick over the whole thing and hadn’t heard back from any of the bloggers reading the book, so I closed my computer and took my daughter out for dinner and told her that my publishing career was most likely over. LOL! So it turned out I was right to trust myself on that one because that book hit the USA Today Bestseller list and Scott Cole is one of the series favourites.

After the success of Fierce, I decided I should get serious about planning out the rest of the series. Back then, I used to fly by the seat of my pants. These days, I’m much more organised with plans for series and mapping them out in advance.

PoP: Who was your favorite character to write and what was it like being inside their head? Did they make you laugh out loud? Blush profusely? Curse the day they popped into your head?

Nina: I have two favourites – King from the Storm MC series and Charlize from Risk. I love being inside King’s head because he’s so different to me in pretty much every way. He’s decisive, confident in his decisions, gives no fucks what anyone thinks, and he doesn’t get bogged down in details. He’s a make-it-happen man. And I have to be honest, I love writing his violent side. Not sure what that says about me?! Writing him in King’s Wrath, though, has shown me his vulnerable side and honestly, I swoon over that side of him. Being in his head for this book has made so many of his actions in past books so much more understandable. I am fascinated by my writing process and how I can have no understanding of why a character says or does something until much later in the book or even in the series. And then it’s like an aha moment where it all becomes clear. A lot of that has happened while writing King! And Charlize – she was so much fun to write because of her hilarious inner thoughts and funny moments. That story was roughly planned, but I had no idea of how the characters would show up on the page because I didn’t do any planning for their personality types or anything like that. I simply sat down and decided I needed to think of a funny and mortifying situation a woman could find herself in and then write that to open the book. And Charlize just took off from there. I love her because I feel like she has so many traits that most women can relate to.

PoP: In addition to your MC series, you’ve written a rocker and friends to lovers romance. What other tropes do you hope to tackle in your writing career?

Nina: I have plans for so many! There will be the accidental pregnancy book featuring Avery and Tyler from Steal My Breath. I’ve got the billionaire trope with Ashton Scott and the office romance/billionaire trope with Risk (I’ve still got the second book in this duet to write and am really looking forward to that!). I have a book I started writing way before Storm that I want to finish – it features a married couple on the rocks. It was inspired by Pink’s album The Truth About Love. I’ve got the opposites attract novella I wrote about a laid back tattoo artist who falls for an uptight career girl, titled Her Kind of Crazy. I’ll be expanding that book and releasing it this year. Other than those, I’d love to write a ‘woke up married in Vegas’ book, a secret baby book, maybe a jilted bride book, and a marriage of convenience book. I’d also really love to write a small town romance series, and it would definitely need to have a story about a woman who returns to the small town she grew up in and finds love with her first love again *sigh*. Oh, and I’d love to dedicate a whole series of standalones to a second chance romance series. I adore second chance romance!

PoP: How do you shape your characters? Are they reflections of the people you have encountered or do you write them the way they speak to you?

Nina: I wouldn’t say they are planned as reflections of the people I encounter, but sometimes I find myself writing a character who I later realise was probably influenced by someone I’ve met. Having said that, there are a few characters I’ve written who have gone through similar experiences as mine, so they’ve been partly shaped by some of the people I’ve known. Generally when I’m planning out a novel and the main characters, I start with their wound and go from there. Everything else about them has to fit into character with that.

PoP: What do you do to help writer’s block should you encounter it?

Nina: Oh man, I’ve definitely suffered over the last year with this. I had to acknowledge that my self care was lacking and that I had worked myself into burnout. Grief on top of that only made it worse, and then physical injury forced me to take time off and figure it all out. I had to go back to basics with my self care and improve my sleep, eating and movement. Regular massages and physiotherapy helped too. And then just getting out and living life rather than working all the time was also key for me. Girls weekends away are one of my favourite things to do. Taking time away from social media is another key thing, although I do struggle with this when a lot of my work is on social media. And trying to set aside time first thing in the morning for writing is beneficial for me because I tend to write much better then. And lastly, when the words aren’t coming on the main book I’m writing, I’ve found that working on side projects really helps my creativity flow. So I’ve been slowly working away on some fun side projects the last couple of months and am excited for where they will lead!

PoP: If you were to pitch your books to new readers in one sentence, what would it be?

Nina: If you don’t love romances with dirty-talking alphas, you won’t love my books 😉

— Nina Levine asks Prisoners of Print —

Nina: How did the two of you meet and decide to blog together?

PoP: We met when we were 14 years old, working at the public library across the street from our high school reshelving books. Candy was singing a highly inappropriate song on the opposite side of the shelf, and the rest is history. After graduation, Becca went to college hundreds of miles away, but we never lost touch despite life continuing to keep us geographically separate. A few years ago, while messaging about books we’d recently read, we came up with the idea to start a book blog. We thought it would be a fun way to reconnect and share something we love with one another. Prisoners of Print was born, and here we are over four years later.

Nina: I love this!! Love that you’ve been friends for so long and share a love of books!

What is your absolute favourite thing about blogging?

PoP: Hands down, the relationships we have cultivated. Blogging has allowed us to connect with authors, other bloggers, and fellow readers in ways we could never have imagined. What starts out as a shared love for the written word evolves into something so much more. It’s kind of incredible when messages about your swoon-worthy book boyfriend turn into talking about real life, supporting one another through the difficult times, sharing in each other’s joy, and making plans to one day meet up. We love that blogging has allowed us to connect with so many different people from around the world in ways we would never have been able to otherwise. We truly cherish the genuine friendships we’ve made in the book world.

Nina: I agree that the messages that start off being about book boyfriends and turn into beautiful friendships are a special and wonderful part of this community. I’ve definitely treasured our chats, Becca. You’ve been there for me at times I needed someone to chat with and that has meant so much to me.

I’d love to know each of your top 3 favourite books! Which books do you still think about to this day and wish you could read all over again?

B: Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker
, Rule by Jay Crownover
, and The Coincidence series by Jessica Sorensen

C: The Edge of Never series by J.A. Redmerski
, From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon
, and Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

Nina: Some amazing books here. I also loved Rule, Ten Tiny Breaths and The Edge of Never! Oh and I’m pretty sure I’ve read the first Coincidence book by Jessica Sorenson and loved it too.

Last 5 star read for each of you?

B: Recovered by Jay Crownover

C: The Birthday List by Devney Perry

Nina: Paperback or ebook? Why?

PoP: We can really go with either one, but if we had to choose, we would say that it would be eBooks. We like to have the highlight ability so that all our favorite quotes or things that we can relate to are always at our fingertips. Plus, eBooks allow for being able to carry more than one around at all times 😉

Nina: I love being able to highlight my fave parts in ebooks too, but I still love reading paperbacks. I tend to buy fiction in ebook form and non-fiction in paperback (except when I reallyyyyy can’t wait for the paperback to be delivered!).

One of my fave tropes is the ‘married in Vegas’ trope. I pretty much devour any movie or book I stumble across with that storyline! What is the one trope for each of you that you can’t go past?

B: I adore a good sibling’s best friend romance. There’s something about quietly wanting someone forever and having them in your life but always out of reach that just tugs on my heartstrings. I can’t help but get caught up in all of the delicious tension and inevitable angst. Plus, that moment when things finally click is always kind of magical! Happily ever afters carved out of a lifetime of longing and barely maintained patience tend to be so much sweeter, too.

C: I’m a sucker for a second chance at love. We all make mistakes in life and sometimes those errors lead to losing something we didn’t know we wanted – especially in the form of love. There’s something so special about witnessing that redemption, the growth, and the overcoming of obstacles that seemed impossible at one point in time.

Nina: Next book on your TBR?

B: Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen

C: The Pleasure of Panic by JA Huss

Nina: When I’m ready to settle in and read a book, I love to do that either on the couch, the sunbed or in bed. And I like to set myself up with a cup of tea and chocolate! Where do you prefer to read, and what are your reading must-haves?

B: I’m pretty content to read anywhere there’s quiet and a glass of wine or cup of coffee. However, most of my reading happens in bed at the end of the night cuddled up to my cat. If there’s a big blanket, fuzzy socks, and something yummy to sip on I’m a happy girl.

C: In an ideal world, I’d be in a hammock by the water somewhere. Since that’s rarely possible for me, my favorite place is curled up in bed at night. My husband and daughter are asleep and the world is quiet. My puppy curls up next to me and I escape to a new world…it’s perfection every time.

Nina: I love snuggling under a big blanket too, Becca! And reading by the water is a fave place of mine too, Candy!

I detest spoilers!! Do you girls like them?? If you love them, do you actually search them out?

PoP: Absolutely not! We both love the thrill of going into a book and being taken on every turn for ourselves. There’s something about experiencing every raw emotion and a delicious anticipation that leaves us loving a book that much more. However, that’s not to say that sometimes a little trigger warning isn’t helpful when it’s necessary.

Nina: How does blogging fit in with the rest of your life? How much time do you spend on blogging each week?

PoP: Even after almost four years of doing this, we’re constantly evolving as bloggers. Maintaining a balance between work, family, and the vortex of social media is difficult, but we’ve managed to become pretty efficient and organized in how we tackle the everyday aspects of our blog. We tend to meet up online after dinner to go over scheduling for the next day, dedicating a couple of hours to getting things taken care of so we can focus on our lives offline, the social aspects of blogging, and whatever else we have going on at the moment.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ & GIVEAWAY – Hyde’s Absolution by Nina Levine

Title: Hyde’s Absolution
Author: Nina Levine
Series: Sydney Storm MC #4
Release Date: June 20, 2017

The Sydney Storm MC are back and war is coming.

Monroe Lee is a handful.
She fights me, challenges me and tries to resist me.

Where I’m jagged, she’s smooth.
Where I’m dark, she’s pure.
Where I’m broken, she’s whole.

I am not a good man.
I’ve hurt everyone I’ve ever loved.
I should walk away before I ruin her too.

But fuck, we are fire together.
And I’ve been out in the cold too long.

At a time when everything is falling down around me, she might just be my saviour.

Nina Levine serves up another fiercely addictive MC romance with Hyde’s Absolution, the newest addition to the Sydney Storm MC series. After what feels like one seriously long wait to hear this mysterious man’s story, this novel did not disappoint. Every bit as intense, sexy and full of feels as I’d imagined, Hyde and Monroe’s journey was utterly captivating. I devoured this book, desperate for more of the Storm MC family I’ve come to love and anxious to unravel Hyde for myself. Hyde and Monroe were absolutely electric, their chemistry off the charts and their emotional connection incredibly heartfelt. Nina Levine not only knows how to write swoon-worthy biker BBFs, but she definitely excels at creating the kind of feisty, strong heroines perfect for her possessive alpha males. Nina’s writing is exquisite, effortlessly demonstrating her growth as an author and making this book one of her most memorable works yet.

“Even though she lived and breathed in my soul, I wasn’t in hers. She didn’t know me, and she had no reason to trust me.”

Hyde was so much more than I ever imagined he’d be. As his past came crashing back into his present, we got to experience an entirely new side to the character. The raw emotion that came with those revelations quickly pulled me under Hyde’s spell and kept me mesmerized for the duration of his journey. I loved how Nina Levine juxtaposed the ferocious and oftentimes vicious side of Hyde with the vulnerable and heartbroken man who was desperate to reclaim and defend his family. Monroe’s complete acceptance of Hyde’s flaws, vices and scars was nothing short of breathtaking and allowed the reader to get an intimate look into this seriously complicated hero. By the time all was said and done I’d definitely fallen head over heels for Hyde. I loved his deliciously dirty and unapologetically alpha side as much as I did his caring and tender one. Nina Levine has truly outdone herself with this badass biker.

“Why God? Why is the only man I want to sleep with a moody asshole?”

Monroe was a woman after my own heart – intelligent, independent and unwilling to settle for anything less than what she deserved. I adored her strength and the fearlessness with which she took on Hyde and his many moods. I enjoyed seeing Monroe with her friends and family. They gave me a glimpse of her insecurities and fears that helped me connect to the otherwise seemingly confident heroine in unexpected ways. Nina Levine certainly knew what she was doing bringing Monroe and Hyde together because the push and pull between them was hot, hilarious and totally unique. I loved their witty banter and the scorching interludes they shared. This couple undeniably sizzled in a way that kept me furiously flipping the pages. I have no doubt that Monroe was the perfect addition to the MC women and I look forward to seeing her really find her place amongst the Storm family in the future.

“At the end, we’d both been like casualties of war who stared at each other through vacant eyes, hurling words intended to hurt the other because that felt like the only way to allow the pain out.”

While Hyde and Monroe’s story absolutely enthralled, it was perhaps the MC storyline that kept me so riveted to this novel. Nina Levine picks the club business right back up and continues it in a way that had me on the edge of my seat, desperate to figure out how it would all shake out. I loved seeing more of Kick, Nitro, Devil and King, as well as the women who drive them crazy. Hyde’s Absolution held the same feeling of family I’ve come to love so much from this series and it took no time at all for me to fall right back into Nina Levine’s fictional world. In true Nina Levine fashion, she left my head reeling and my heart raging for the next book in the series but Hyde and Monroe’s journey was as sexy and satisfying as I could have wished for. Overflowing with vibrant characters, brilliant imagery, genuine emotion and pulse-pounding action, Hyde’s Absolution is Nina Levine at her very best!

I tore my attention from Hyde and gave it back to Tatum when she said, “I’ll call you tomorrow.”

Hyde’s presence had pretty much wiped all coherent thought from my mind, so I simply nodded and murmured, “Okay.”

As she and Nitro walked away from us, Hyde moved closer. His scent almost hypnotised me, if that was even possible. Looking down at me, he said, “What are you drinking?” The husky tone of his voice was like the final nail in my coffin. He could lead me down the path to sin with that voice.

“A Cosmo please.”

He turned to the waiting bartender and ordered drinks before shifting his gaze back to me. His body was so damn close it almost pressed against mine. His eyes dropped to my chest. “You weren’t made to be subtle, were you, sugar?”

“Can’t say that word’s in my vocabulary, no.” The way he was devouring my body told me I’d made the best decision when I bought the black dress I wore tonight. Knee length with a plunging neckline and accentuated with a belt around my waist, it clung to every curve I had. My girls were up and proudly out, just the way I liked them. I mean, if you had it, flaunt it, right? And I’d had the red in my hair touched up that afternoon. It hung in lazy vivid red curls to just below my breasts. I wasn’t sure which part of me he thought wasn’t subtle, but I guessed it had something to do with my dress by the way he seemed unable to draw his gaze from my body.

Finally he found his way back up to my face. The heat flashing in his eyes shot a round of lust through my veins. Good God, this man, though. I wondered if he had any idea of the storm he caused within me. “Don’t ever add it.” If what he said didn’t make my legs sway a little, the forceful, gravelly way he said it did.

The bartender placed our drinks on the counter, distracting us from each other. Hyde dropped some cash on the bar, took a mouthful of his whisky and looked back at me while I got down as much of my drink as I could in one mouthful. God knew, I needed it. I could stand my ground with any man, but Hyde had a way of catching me off guard.

“You calm down after that thing about owing me money this morning?” And there he went, flipping my feelings about him on their head.

I fixed him with a look that let him know I wasn’t impressed. “I didn’t have anything to calm down from.”

“You seemed all worked up about it.”

I threw some more of my cocktail down my throat. “I wasn’t.” But I was getting there now, that was for sure.

He drank some more whisky, keeping his eyes steady on mine. “Okay.”

Okay? Oh no he didn’t. He didn’t get to end a conversation with that bullshit. “Okay? Seriously, you’re going to end with that?”

“It seemed pointless to argue.”

I finished my drink and placed the empty glass down with some force. Sliding off my stool, I said, “We weren’t arguing. I was simply telling you like it was.”

“Yeah, I’ve picked that up about you.”

My eyes practically popped out of their sockets. “Picked up what about me?”

“That you like to tell men like it is.”

“I do not! You just have this way of pushing my buttons. I feel like it’s you, not me.”

His lips twitched. “Sugar, if I knew which buttons I was pushing, I’d push them some more. I never said I didn’t like the way you told me how it was.”

I snatched my bag off the bar. I needed a moment to get my thoughts under control. In the space of seconds I’d switched from wanting him to wanting to smack him to wanting him again. My mind needed a break from the whiplash. I took a step away from the bar and said, “I’ll have another Cosmo.”

Without waiting for his response, I headed in the direction of the ladies room. I’d almost made it there when a hand slid around my waist and I was pushed up against the wall in the dark hallway. A hard body pushed against mine as the hand around my waist slid down to settle on my ass and warm breath whispered across my cheek. “My cock likes that attitude of yours. Surprised the fuck outta me, but I can’t deny I want more of it.”

The proof of his statement ground against me, sparking need all over me. Every inch of my skin blazed with desire. I gripped his shirt with both hands and found his eyes. “You and I weren’t made for each other, Hyde.”

“I’m not saying we were.”

My body went to war with my mind. It fought me kicking and screaming, desperate for what he was offering, but I didn’t want to surrender. “So what’s the point of starting something?”

He pushed his cock harder against me. “I came here against better judgement tonight. Nitro told me you’d be here and I came because I couldn’t, for the fucking life of me, get you out of my head. I want my hands on those curves of yours and my dick as far inside you as you can take it.”

Review

Nina Levine returns readers to the Sydney Storm MC with Devil’s Vengeance, Devil and Hailee’s sizzling story. From the moment we first met Devil earlier in the series, I’d been waiting to unravel this enigma of a man and Devil’s Vengeance definitely didn’t disappoint. Devil and Hailee were electric, their delicious chemistry and inexplicable connection obvious from the very start and their innate understanding of one another’s soul utterly captivating. I got lost in their sexy, sweet push and pull, eager to discover what made these two tick and wholly invested in their happy ending. Both independent and incredibly stubborn, Hailee and Devil shared plenty of sarcastic banter and the kind of filthy flirtation that kept me riveted to their story. Throw in some great new secondary characters like Hailee’s hilarious grandmother and all of the familiar MC faces and Nina Levine has written another exceptional MC romance with Devil’s Vengeance.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in my thirty years, it’s that perfection doesn’t exist. Everyone’s story is filled with imperfection. And who am I to judge yours?”

Like all of the Storm women before her, Hailee was feisty, passionate and a force of nature all her own. I absolutely adored getting to know this multi-talented woman. Her unwavering compassion, kind heart, generous spirit and artistic soul made her incredibly enchanting. Beautiful inside and out, Hailee proved herself time and again to be the perfect match for Devil and I was in awe of her ferocity and loyalty. I enjoyed getting to know Hailee even better through her family, friends and bandmates. These peripheral relationships really shaped this character, giving her depth as well as adding plenty of heart and humor to the story. As Nina Levine developed this character over the course of the book, we got to see Hailee’s insecurities and vulnerabilities rise to the surface. It was these raw and honest moments where Hailee felt so incredibly tangible that allowed me to connect with her so completely and had me rooting for her and Devil to find their happily ever after.

“I think we meet people when we’re supposed to. When we need them.”

Devil has had me intrigued from the moment he first appeared in the series and I knew that whatever his story was, it would captivate me. Nina Levine definitely delivered, revealing this character to be a man who was equal parts charming and fierce with an incredible capacity for love. Devil was delightfully dirty and all kinds of alpha with a surprisingly sweet side that was totally adorable – the complete book boyfriend package all wrapped up in ink and dipped in bad decisions that had me swooning from page one. While there were definitely aspects of Devil’s history that I felt needed a bit more exploration, I enjoyed getting to know the pieces of his past that made him who he was. Plus, seeing Devil with his family opened my eyes to an entirely new side of this character and gave me an even greater appreciation for the kind of man he was below the stereotypical MC surface. Devil is definitely up there on my list of all-time favorite Storm men.

“Why do we continue to love those who cut our hearts out and let them bleed all over the floor while telling us they really do love us?”

As far as the storyline goes, this novel seemed to have less action and adventure, making Devil and Hailee’s story more about their emotional journey and the strategic aspect of club business than the heart-pounding, gut-wrenching chaos some of the other books have thrived upon. For that reason, the pacing is a bit slower, but not in a negative way. As always, I enjoyed seeing more of King, Hyde and the rest of the Storm MC crew. The overarching MC storyline just seems to get more and more tangled the further into the series we go and it has me itching to find out what will happen next. Nina Levine also set up Hyde’s book, dishing out just enough detail to get me hungry for more of his story, as well as teasing at King’s incredibly complicated past. With her scorching interludes, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotion and intriguing club dynamics, Nina Levine has only managed to sink her hooks deeper into me. I adored Devil and Hailee’s story and I can’t wait to see more of this couple in the future along with all of my favorite biker BBFs as the Sydney Storm MC continues to fight for love and brotherhood.

I decided to be completely up-front with my thoughts. “Are you just after sex here? I mean, if you are, I’m on board with that, but I’d rather know going in what this is rather than thinking it could be more when that’s not what you’re thinking.”

He smiled harder and leant forward so he could kiss me. His lips on mine blazed a line of hunger along my skin. Every inch of me wanted more. And he didn’t disappoint.

Parting my lips, he deepened the kiss, his tongue searching for mine. He took my face in his hands, and his body slid across the lounge towards mine until we were touching.

I wanted to crawl into his lap and never let him end this kiss.

I wanted to rip his shirt off and put my hands all over his body.

God, I wanted to do so many dirty things to him—things I’d never done to another man, but had dreamt of.

“Darlin’,” he rasped, pulling his mouth from mine, which made me want to cry out my disappointment. “We need to stop this now or else I’m not gonna be able to stop. I’d happily fuck you on this lounge if it’s what you wanted, but I doubt it is.”

I took hold of his face. “I need your lips on mine for at least another five minutes, and if you can’t control yourself, that’s on you.” My words came out on a huff of bossy breathlessness, because that’s what a kiss from Devil did to me. I could only imagine what sleeping with him would do. Hell, he might cause me to stop breathing all together.

His eyes widened a fraction before he grinned. “Jesus, you’re something else, woman.”

And then he gave me what I wanted.

And I knew what his answer would be about whether this was just sex or not.

This was never going to just be about sex.

Synopsis

Tatum Lee is a pain in my ass.

She’s stubborn, full of attitude, and she doesn’t like to do what she’s told.

And yet, at a time when I should be focusing on the war my club is at, she consumes my mind because she’s also fearless and fierce, and I’ve never met a woman like her.

The thing about war, though, is the minute you let your focus drop, your enemy rises up and attacks. And sometimes they bring you to your knees in ways you never imagined.

The other thing about war? You learn just what you’re capable of doing to protect those you love.

Review

Just when I think Nina Levine couldn’t possibly write a more swoon-worthy biker book boyfriend, Nitro comes along and proves me wrong. Nitro’s Torment was sexy, thrilling, and full of so many unexpected feelings that I couldn’t help but be left wanting more. Nitro and Tatum were a match made in tattooed badass heaven and I found myself instantly under their spell. From the first page to the last, this couple shared an absolutely explosive chemistry. Fueled by a mutual stubbornness and soul-deep recognition of one another’s demons, Nitro and Tatum challenged each other, creating a constant friction that sparked something fierce, hot, and unyielding between them that was utterly addictive.

“When Nitro kissed, he fucking claimed you. He used his mouth to say all the things he didn’t say with his words.”

Nitro was a surprise from beginning to end and I found myself enjoying every minute of unraveling this enigma of a man. Not only was he all delicious, dirty, and raw alpha male, but as the story progressed, Nina Levine also revealed a softer side to Nitro. Utilizing his relationship with his siblings and niece, we got to see the protective, caring, and slightly broken man that lay beneath all the fury and fight. It was this duality that proved to be so simply breathtaking, branding Nitro on my heart in a way I couldn’t have anticipated. Throw in his developing relationship with Tatum and the complicated brotherhood he calls home and Nina Levine has skillfully created a bold and beautiful multidimensional character that is entirely captivating.

“You might be unpredictable out there in the world, but here with us, you’re predictable in all the right ways.”

It’s been a long time since I’ve loved a female character as much as I did Tatum. Nina Levine expertly developed this character in a way that made her relatable, lovable, and deeply moving. Although her initial sass and independence had me grinning, it was her innate understanding of Nitro’s darkness and the exposure of her own fears and insecurities that had me hooked on this heroine. Tatum was flawed, broken, and undeniably human, making her easy to connect with and root for. Her strength, ferocity, and unfailing loyalty allowed Tatum to fit seamlessly into Nitro’s dark and dangerous MC world. As their story progressed, Tatum proved to be the perfect match for Nitro and together these two characters stole my heart with their entertaining push and pull, sizzling sexual tension, and heartbreaking honesty.

“I thought life had already handed me my heart on a platter. Bleeding and bruised. Turned out life wasn’t done with me yet. Bleeding and bruised wasn’t enough.”

One of the things I’ve come to love about Nina Levine’s books is the incredibly enthralling overarching storylines that connect each novel to the next. Not only do we get the excitement of each couple’s personal journey, but we also get to see the MC evolve and grow. There is nothing more thrilling than getting lost in the vibrant personalities, heart-pounding action, and gut-wrenching emotions of the Storm MC world and the Sydney chapter is no exception. I am already hooked on the complicated relationships and mysterious inner-workings of the club that color this series and I can’t wait to see where Nina plans on taking Nitro, Kick, King, and the rest of the crazy Sydney Storm MC crew.

“The lonely stretch of highway was a silent battleground, but we filled that silence with the sounds of shattered bone and tortured grunts.”

From the first word to the last Nitro’s Torment was an adventure. Gripping, passionate, and delightfully dirty, Nitro and Tatum’s story packed a powerful punch. Their gritty pasts and emotional scars led to some incredibly poignant moments that totally wrecked me in the very best way. Heartbreaking and yet swelling with hope, Nitro’s Torment exemplifies Nina Levine’s phenomenal storytelling and extraordinary character development. This author continues to blow me away with her lyrical prose, amusing banter, sizzling sensuality, and deeply compelling emotions. Perfectly paced and undeniably spellbinding, Nitro and Tatum irrevocably marked me with their heartfelt story. Already anxious for more of the Sydney Storm MC, Nitro’s Torment is an absolute must-read for any MC Romance fan!

Excerpt

I sat next to him. I wasn’t sure why except that for the first time since I’d met him, he seemed like he needed someone. Even if it was just to sit with him. I stole a glance at his face. It was hard to find skin under all the dried blood. “I take it the other guy lost.”

He held my gaze for a long time before answering me. God, how I wondered what thoughts ran through Nitro’s mind. It felt like he either ran from them or got lost in them, but I wasn’t convinced he was often comfortable with them.Something we had in common. “That depends on your definition of winning.”

I didn’t need him to spell it out for me. And I didn’t push him for more. Instead, I walked into the bathroom. Locating a clean washer in the drawer, I wet it and walked back out to him. Standing in between his legs, I began the task of cleaning up his face.

This was something I knew well. My brother had often turned up on my doorstep in this state. Caring for him had always been my responsibility. How could it not be when his journey in life had been dictated by my own?

Nitro hissed when I accidentally pressed too hard on his cheek. His hand landed on mine and he halted my progress. “I can do this myself.”

I pulled my hand away from his face. “Yeah, you can, but I’m doing it, so just let me.”

“Always arguing with me,” he murmured, allowing me to go on.

I worked in silence and when I’d cleaned the blood from his face, I said, “I’m going to get some ice for your face. Wait here.”

I hurried down to the bar because I figured he had work to get back to and no time to waste. Kree loaded me up with ice and a towel to wrap it in. When I arrived back in his room, he was in the shower. He didn’t take longer than a few minutes and when he exited the bathroom wearing only a towel around his waist, I sucked in a breath at the magnificence of his body.

Nitro was a powerhouse of hard muscle that went hand-in-hand with his fearless warrior instincts. Standing before me, almost naked, his masculinity caught me off guard and a rush of desire hit me. My thoughts stalled and I momentarily forgot what I was doing. All I could focus on was the throbbing need deep in my core. A new hum filled my entire being, unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

Damn.

Shit.

No.

“You got ice?” His deep voice snapped me from my hypnosis.

“Ah… yeah,” I mumbled, shoving the towel with the ice in it at him, almost dropping it as I did so.

He frowned, his eyes searching mine. “You good, Vegas?”

Fuck, no, I wasn’t.

I was fucked.

Completely.

I nodded, swallowing hard. “I’m good.”

I was so far from good.

I wanted something I didn’t want to want.

I wanted him.

How the hell did my world turn in such a short space of time? What the fuck triggered that? Because whatever it was, I needed to un-trigger it.

He took the ice from me and turned to head back into the bathroom, grabbing clothes on the way. I was helpless to do anything but watch him walk away. My eyes stayed glued to the powerful muscles that built his back. And that ass.God, that ass. Even covered in a towel it was hard not to stare at.

I was so engrossed in his back and ass that he caught me off guard again when he dropped the towel and dressed without closing the bathroom door.

Fuck it, I was out. I yanked the bedroom door open and left as fast as I could. I needed to find a quiet corner and gather my thoughts. I needed to wipe everything that had just happened from my memory. Somehow, though, I suspected Nitro was not a man to ever be wiped from a woman’s memory.

Luke Hardy is the bossiest man I know. Moody too. But I’ve had a thing for him since we met. I spend half my time arguing with him, and the other half drooling over him. I’m screwed now, though, because I just slept with him and I’ve decided I want a whole lot more than sex. Only problem is, Luke has a secret I never knew. The kind of secret that messes everything up.

Luke

Callie St James likes to argue with me over everything. It irritates the hell out of me. She also turns me on like no other woman ever has. There’s only one problem with that. I can’t date her. And now I’ve gone and screwed it all up by sleeping with her.

Review

Nina Levine delivers another delicious alpha and feisty heroine with Steal My Breath. This is Luke and Callie’s story and a great new direction for this author. Luke and Callie exist in the real world, the one where everyone struggles to fall in love, find their place, pay their bills, and leave their mistakes in the past. Luke and Callie were easy to relate to, they felt real and tangible, like someone I already knew, and that made investing myself in them absolutely effortless. From the moment we met Luke and Callie, it’s obvious that something more bubbles beneath the surface of their friendship. Their constant arguing and the way they knew just how to push each other’s buttons had me grinning, finding their inability to admit to their undeniable attraction especially amusing. The slow build of tension between these two made for some humorous banter and a sizzling chemistry that manifested itself in torturous and eventually, seriously sexy ways.

“Stop talking, because seriously, you’re just digging yourself deeper into my swoon cave, and I might pass out from all that swooning.”

Callie was sweet, lovable, and very much the kind of girl I could easily be friends with. Smart, witty, and kind, Callie had big dreams and an even bigger heart. I was in awe of her patience with Luke as he began to reveal his secrets and I loved that she respected herself (and Luke) enough to lay down some ground rules for their blossoming relationship that held true to her moral compass. I definitely would have liked to dive a little deeper with this character. The small pieces we get of Callie’s history and family life didn’t quite dig deep enough to satiate my need to understand her on an emotional level as so much of their story focused on Luke’s past. I did find myself falling hard for Luke, despite his seemingly never-ending secrets and drama. His emotions sat at the surface, something rare for an alpha male, and I couldn’t help but be moved by his genuine remorse for the situation he was putting Callie in and the obviously overwhelming feelings he had for her. Throw in his funny, slightly off-kilter, and incredibly sweet family and I was very much on Team Luke.

“I’ve spent a good part of the last year trying to keep her out, but I’m slowly grasping that she’s not a woman who can be kept out. Not when it’s my heart in question. She just bulldozes her way through.”

Nina Levine always comes up with storylines that are equal parts intriguing and entertaining and Steal My Breath was no exception. This book is scorching hot in a very big way. There is no shortage of blush-inducing dirty talk or steamy encounters in this novel, so be sure you have a fan around (or at least a glass of very cold water). In addition to all the heat, Steal My Breath packs plenty of humor, thanks in part to the crazy, colorful secondary characters who tell it like it is and seem to have no shame. I absolutely adored Avery and Tyler, they were total scene-stealers for me and I hope we’ll be getting our hands on their story next! While I definitely enjoyed exploring Luke and Callie’s relationship and investigating Luke’s past, there were a few questions that went unanswered and I felt as if certain relationships were repaired too quickly and without the expected emotional turmoil. However, the overall outcome of the story was indeed satisfying and Steal My Breath was well paced and full of emotion, making this a relatively quick and easy read. I would definitely recommend checking out Steal My Breath, a great beginning to a brand new series. Nina Levine’s writing absolutely shines as she tells this heartfelt story of forgiveness, self-discovery, and new beginnings.

Review

Havoc may just be Nina Levine’s hottest book yet! From the moment they met, sparks fly between Havoc and Carla, incinerating the pages of this novel with their intense connection and undeniable chemistry. Despite Havoc being a nomad and new on the scene as far as this series goes, Nina made him feel like part of the family. I loved the way he was already so embedded amongst my favorite Storm MC members and how easily he slipped into the overarching series storyline. That sense of belonging made losing myself in the Storm world once again absolutely effortless. Carla and Havoc are both fiercely independent and incredibly stubborn which made for some fantastic banter and unbelievable tension. These two pushed each other’s buttons and kept me on my toes and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love every frustrating, infuriating, deliciously scorching minute of it. Havoc is a totally different point of view on the Storm MC and I found myself more enthralled by Nina Levine’s vibrant characters and riveting storytelling than ever before.

“She’d managed to drag me closer to the edge where I lived; the edge that threatened to rip every last piece of sanity from me if I stumbled over it.”

When we met Carla in Revive, I knew she would be a force of nature. She is feisty, tough, and totally capable of holding her own with the Storm men. With Nash for a big brother, Carla has become a pro at speaking her mind and striking out on her own, but what really made this character stand out was the heartache, vulnerability, and insecurities than lived beneath the sass and sarcasm. Nina Levine did an incredible job stripping away Carla’s many defense mechanisms to reveal someone who was genuine, raw, and easy to connect with. The duality of this character was mesmerizing. I got lost in her broken pieces, recognizing bits of myself in Carla and relating to her in completely unexpected ways. I also reveled in her strength, enjoying the spunky, passionate woman who could lay down a verbal beating just as easily as she could match dirty talk with the Storm men. Nina Levine has created yet another sexy, smart, and strong female lead with Carla. She is a fantastic addition to the Storm women.

“You’re getting in my fuckin’ head, babe. It’s not a good place to go searching.”

The second they met Havoc unknowingly recognized a kindred spirit in Carla. Despite his aversion to commitment and his love of the nomad lifestyle, she managed to get under his skin. From there on out Nina Levine begins to slowly unravel this mysterious man and I found myself inexplicably drawn to him. I enjoyed the way Nina chipped away at his armor, bringing Havoc to life and allowing the reader to get a real sense of what makes this character tick and why he chose a life of solitude instead of constant brotherhood. His relationship with both his family and his Storm brothers provided further insight into Havoc and why his relationship with Carla is so unexpected. True to his Storm MC counterparts, Havoc brings the heat. His filthy promises made me blush while his undeniable sex appeal had this story sizzling. This character combined bad boy biker with lost and broken man and it was this irresistible mix that had me not only falling in lust with Havoc but also in love with him.

“You’ve got all the right words today. Keep that shit up and I might just be the one to bring heaven to your door.”

While part of the Storm MC series, Havoc can be read on its own. Since Havoc is a nomad, the events in his book run parallel to the series as a whole but occur outside of the previous books. It was this external perspective that I found so fascinating as an avid reader of the series. Nina Levine allowed us to see a whole new side of Storm with Havoc and it gave the world she has created an added depth, enriching her previous books and reinforcing the tangibility of the Storm MC for her readers. I was thrilled to see so much of my favorite Storm couples and learning a little more about secondary characters we’ve yet to really explore. Nina Levine expertly balanced the humor, steam, and emotional components of Carla and Havoc’s journey to deliver a well-paced and wonderfully written story. Nina writes with a fluidity that makes it impossible not to lose yourself in her words, effortlessly conjuring visceral emotions with her insightful prose, biting wit, and enchanting imagery. Havoc and Carla’s story was everything I’ve come to love about this series and then some. I can’t wait to see what Nina Levine has in store next for the Storm MC.

Command

Synopsis

Betrayal. Destruction. Loss.

The Storm MC is a club in crisis and their new President, Scott Cole, has declared war on their enemy. As Scott takes command, the MC is thrust into the biggest battle in their history – a battle to not only save the club, but the lives of its members.

Harlow James stands behind her man as he takes charge. She’s determined to prove she can be the woman he needs. However, somewhere along the way, she’s lost a piece of herself, and she fights to be strong for him when she feels anything but strong.

As the club descends into chaos, Scott and Harlow are pulled in opposite directions while they try to protect everything that is important to them. Their relationship is tested in ways it never has been, but they cling to the faith they have in each other.

Is faith enough to get you through when all appears to be lost? For Scott and Harlow, it may be the only thing that, in the end, will save them and the club.

Review

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love the Storm MC family any more, Command comes along and makes me fall even deeper. Nina Levine has written a fantastic new addition to the series, tying up loose ends and giving some of the couples that extra push towards their happily ever afters. Scott and Harlow had a lot to work through and I loved how Nina Levine approached their situation with an emotional honesty and sensitivity that made my heart swell. Nina never dismissed Scott and Harlow’s feelings and fears in exchange for a smoother storyline. Instead, each broken piece was lovingly examined and carefully put back in its place allowing the reader to really feel this story all the way through. Their relationship evolved naturally, riding out the highs and lows until this couple found their happy medium again. Nina Levine continues to wow me with each new novel, her growth as a writer and storyteller obvious in each heartfelt emotion and unforgettable character she creates. Nina uses her words to make her readers ache and burn only to turn around and soothe with her thoughtful prose. Her ability to make me feel, to experience her characters’ journeys wholly, keeps me coming back for more.

“Her promise fell easily from her lips and all I could do was hope she kept it, because this woman standing in front of me was the woman I’d decided to spend the rest of my life with, and I needed her whole again.”

After all they’d been through in their relationship, I wasn’t sure quite what to expect in this book from Harlow and Scott. I was prepared for them to be broken and maybe a little angry, but instead I was amazed by the amount of growth we saw from them in Command. As Harlow begins to heal, we get to experience the fierce woman Scott first fell in love with, and once again, I quickly found myself totally mesmerized by this charismatic couple. I adored watching them push each other, challenging one another to open up and face their pain. Their ability to trust one another in the purest of ways laid an unshakeable foundation for their future that had my mind spinning with the endless possibilities of their happily ever after. They were, without question, a stronger couple in this book and I loved having my favorite badass MC couple back in action. In addition to seeing our favorite biker couples return, Nina introduced some new characters that had me totally intrigued, especially the incredibly feisty, Scarlett. I can’t wait to see how Nina intends to develop these new relationships, because one thing is for sure, it will be one hell of a ride.

“Harlow joined all the pieces of my soul together. She made me whole.”

So much emotion pours from the pages of this book. Harlow and Scott have been through so much in their relationship and Storm has been plagued by violence and lies in the previous books. The tension has never been higher nor has there ever been so much at stake. When I wasn’t swooning over Scott, Nina had me on the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting for the moment when someone would pull back the curtain and reveal who was responsible for all of the club’s recent trouble. Each unexpected twist and turn in the plot kept me riveted, and that final moment of truth was totally satisfying. Despite their heartache, Scott and Harlow’s connection was as undeniable as ever and their chemistry once again sizzled. Nina Levine packed a ton of heat into this book, making me blush from Scott and Harlow’s filthy mouths and insatiable lust. The inclusion of so many familiar faces in this book was just the icing on the cake. Not only did it make me giddy with excitement, but it gave Command a deeply rooted sense of family. For the first time, everyone really seemed to find their place within the Storm MC and seeing them not only fight to defend their family, but share in life’s big moments as well, had my heart soaring.

I ran my hand over her ass and up her back. When I found her hair, I took hold and pulled her head back so I could dip my mouth to her neck. Fuck she smells good. I kissed her and as she moaned again, I added my teeth to the kiss, and fuck if she didn’t arch her back and press her front to me harder.

Pulling away, I rasped, “Jesus, woman, I need to get you out of here, otherwise your ass is gonna be planted on that couch and my dick is gonna be buried so far deep in you before you can stop me.”

Her mouth turned up in a grin, but she didn’t say anything.

“What?” I demanded.

“There is no way Scott Cole is going to fuck his woman in front of his club, but I love your enthusiasm. Personally, I think these guys are so involved in their drinking that we could probably have sex on that couch and none of them would even notice.”

I raised my brows. “You wanna see just where Scott Cole would fuck his woman? ‘Cause I’m happy to show you.”

Her grin grew. “I dare you, baby.”

Fuck.

She knows me too fucking well and she’s fucking playing me.

I kept my gaze trained on her while I pulled out my phone and called Griff. When he answered, I said, “You guys right if I head home for the night?”

“Yeah, brother. We’ve got it under control. Church is scheduled for ten in the morning and then we’ve got the re-opening of Trilogy tomorrow night.”

My gaze dropped to Harlow’s lips as she licked them, and my dick begged for that tongue. I raised my finger to her lips and closed her mouth, holding my finger there as I replied, “See you in the morning.”

Shoving my phone in my pocket, I growled, “I want you outside. Now.”

Her grin disappeared and gave way to a sexy curl of her lips. Without another word, she turned and began walking outside. My eyes dropped to her ass. The way it swayed under the tight fit of her short, black dress almost made me come in my pants.

That dress is fucking perfect.

I followed her outside and as we walked past the corner of the building, I snagged her around the waist, lifted her to rest against my body and carried her around the corner. I then deposited her on the ground and pushed her up against the building. My hands went to the hem of her dress and I pulled it up to reveal her panties to me. I slid one hand inside to find her pussy while my other hand moved to take hold of her chin.

My eyes found hers and I demanded, “You good if I fuck my woman now?”

Review

One of the best things about Nina Levine’s writing is that no matter how much you think you know about a character, there are still many more surprises waiting for you. I’ve known for several books now that Griff had secrets that he guarded closely, but I was thrown for a loop when his real story came to light. Griff turned out to be far more complex than I imagined, keeping me captivated as Nina Levine unraveled this man. Sophia is the kind of character you just have to care about, her warm and forgiving personality the ideal counterbalance to Griff’s illusive and distant nature. Illusive is another fantastic book in the Storm MC Series, continuing the unpredictable and chaotic journey of the club and reminding us of all the couples we’ve fallen in love with along the way.

“I watched her go, feeling something I hadn’t felt for fuck knew how long. Regret. And that confused me. And for some reason, it also hurt.”

Griff and Sophia have a unique dynamic, unlike any of the previous couples in the series. Opposites in many ways, they proved to be two sides of the same coin. I enjoyed experiencing their personal growth as they helped free each other from the baggage of their pasts. Both have histories that must be faced and they certainly give each other the necessary push to move on and go forward. Although he didn’t speak much, Griff’s beautiful and sweet words made me swoon, while Sophia’s incessant babble kept me grinning. Together, these two were incredibly entertaining. Nina Levine wrote a sizzling chemistry between this couple that had them pushing their personal boundaries and relinquishing control to one another. Griff and Sophia’s relentless flirting, delicious dirty talk, and steam-inducing moments balanced their undeniably intense emotional connection, making their relationship feel genuine and whole.

“It was both heaven and hell for me – a constant push and pull of needs. All I wanted to do was take her body and bend it to give me what I desired – what I needed – but I refused to break her, so I denied myself.”

As always, Nina Levine is driving me crazy with the overarching club storyline. Just when I finally get some answers, she hits me with something new that leaves me desperate for the next book in the series. The club dynamics are just so addictive that I can’t seem to ever get enough. I devoured Illusive, desperate to see where things were headed after Slay. Illusive was well paced, demonstrating equal parts intense, gripping club business and passionate, emotional relationship issues. I loved the cameos of characters from Nina’s spinoff series as well as the return of all my favorite Storm men. Nina Levine really captured the feeling of family with this book, not just within Storm, but with Griff, Sophia, Josie, and Magan as well. Illusive was hot, engaging, and emotionally raw, proving yet again how well Nina can dish out a biker book boyfriend! Bring on Command!

Excerpt

His strokes were slow and rhythmic, designed to work a woman to a crazed state. I should know because he was slowly taking me there. He didn’t want me to come yet, but that was getting harder and harder with each new round of pleasure. Each time a wave crashed over me, my muscles threatened to let my body collapse onto the bed. I wasn’t sure how much longer I could hold myself up.

And not to reach out and touch him? That was a whole other level of how-the-fuck-will-I-make-it-through-this?

He pushed another finger inside so I now had two delivering me heaven. I writhed under his touch, my muscles seriously beginning to tire. My eyes squeezed close and my fingers curled into a ball, wanting desperately to cling to something, but unable to latch onto anything the way they were tied. The orgasm that continually tried to shatter me, moved dangerously close until it reached the point where I thought I could no longer fight it.

“Griff, I can’t…I can’t do this anymore.” I panted as my muscles gave way and my body dropped to the bed.

His fingers left me, and in what felt like a split second, he had me flipped onto my stomach, and he’d moved so his knees were on the bed, either side of my legs. One of his hands landed on the bed beside me while he placed the other one on my back. He growled into my ear, “Do you know what happens when you don’t obey me, Sophia?”

My breathing had turned into pants and my muscles were screaming at me, all while my pussy pulsed with need. “No,” I managed to get out, even though I struggled to form a thought while my mind tried to deal with all my senses at once.

“When you don’t do as I say, I get to punish you, in any way I want.”
