RELEASE DAY BLITZ – Rome’s Chance by Joanna Wylde

Title: Rome’s Chance
Author: Joanna Wylde
Series: Reapers MC #6.6
Release Date: April 24, 2018

Rome McGuire knew he was in trouble the first time he saw her.

She was sweet and pretty and just about perfect in every way. She was also too young and innocent for the Reapers Motorcycle Club. He did the right thing, and walked away.

The second time, he couldn’t resist tasting her.

Gorgeous and smart, fun and full of wonder, she jumped on his bike and would’ve followed him anywhere. Still, she deserved a shot at happiness somewhere bigger and better than a town like Hallies Falls. Walking away wasn’t so easy that time, but her family needed her and he had a job to do.

When she came around a third time, he’d had enough. Randi Whittaker had been given two chances to escape, and now it was time for Rome to take his.

This time, the only way Randi would be leaving Hallies Falls was on the back of Rome’s bike.

Joanna Wylde returns to the world of the Reapers MC with her sweet, sexy novella, Rome’s Chance! While I’m not sure I would categorize this as a second-chance romance (the couple went on one date years before this story takes place), there is a definite familiarity between Rome and Randi that sparks an instant and intense chemistry. As Randi tries to resist Rome’s pull, the tension becomes palpable to the point of combustion and that moment when these two finally collide is seriously satisfying. I enjoyed getting to know Randi, but I definitely would have liked to unravel Rome a bit more. His apparent dichotomy was certainly captivating, but I felt as if this story barely scratched the surface of what made this hero tick. Heartfelt, angsty, and utterly electric, Rome’s Chance has a little bit of everything I’ve come to love about Joanna Wylde’s writing.

“I wasn’t used to taking chances. Taking chances meant taking risks, and most of my life had been damage control.”

This is a quick read that packs quite the emotional punch. Rome’s Chance tackles some real issues with plenty of sexy interludes sprinkled in to fan the flames of this couple’s electric attraction. Admittedly, the pacing was a bit uneven with the storyline building steadily only to resolve fairly quickly. I was definitely left wanting more of Rome and Randi then what this novella delivered. If you’re a fan of Joanna Wylde and her delicious biker book boyfriends, you’ll be happy to get glimpses of some familiar faces further into their happily ever afters. For new readers, this standalone novella is a great taste of the raw emotion, intriguing storyline, and unforgettable characters that make up the Reapers MC series. Enchanting, colorful, and as addictive as ever, Rome’s Chance will leave you wanting more from Joanna Wylde!

“Randi?” I froze, because I knew that voice.

Rome McGuire.

The sound was rough and sexy, with just a hint of a growl. Deeper than it’d been eight years ago, when I’d thrown caution to the wind and hopped on the back of his motorcycle for one glorious night.

Back then, I’d still been a shy little thing, terrified that some hot biker might actually want to talk to me, let alone take me out. When I caught him watching me at the party, I remembered studying the floor, his shirt collar, even the beer in my plastic cup, because I hadn’t known what to do with myself around such raw male glory. Apparently some things never change, because when I turned to face him, I found myself staring at the floor again.

This was a mistake, because his feet were down there. And the battered, black leather boots he wore led to jeans-covered legs. Legs topped by thick, muscular thighs.

Stop it. You’re acting like a giant dork! My brain hissed.

Oblivious and mesmerized, my gaze rose to the faded denim around his fly, and it was all over. My eyes started tracing the folds of the Okanogan Fire and Rescue T-shirt covering his still-muscular chest, although the Reapers Motorcycle Club vest he wore was a change. Back then, he’d been hanging around the Nighthawk Raiders MC. That whole club had disappeared for reasons I’d never fully understood, and the Reapers had taken over the town shortly afterward. Apparently Rome was one of them now.

Interesting…

I’d always wondered what’d happened to Rome after I’d left. We’d never said goodbye. That summer, the wildfires had swept through so fast that my family had to evacuate with the clothes on our backs. We hadn’t bothered to come back and sift through the ashes.

I’d kept in touch with my old boss, Tinker, of course.

I’d even considered asking her about Rome, but in some ways those fires were the best thing that ever happened to me. Starting over meant starting college in Missoula, and then a whole new life.

Wasn’t like Rome and I could’ve ever been anything real, anyway. Guys like him weren’t for girls like me.

My gaze reached his neck, which bristled with thick, black stubble that was more than a little out of control—this was different from when I’d known him before. Not that he’d ever been baby-faced, but he’d definitely matured. Now there were a few wrinkles around those dark blue eyes, although the dimple was still there. So was the crooked smile that’d spontaneously combusted my panties.

Correction.

A crooked smile that was currently combusting my panties. Who knew that a supermarket could be such dangerous territory?

“Been a long time,” he said. I shrugged, unsure what to say. I mean, yeah, we’d gone out on a date. He’d kissed me and wow… Not that we’d gotten much past second base, but he’d scored a home run in the lower deck of my ballpark, if you know what I mean. But he was one of those guys—you know, the kind of guys who hit lots of home runs with lots of girls.

“Yeah, well…” My words trailed off.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ – Shade’s Lady by Joanna Wylde

Title: Shade’s Lady
Author: Joanna Wylde
Series: Reapers MC #6.5
Release Date: March 14, 2017

Looking back, none of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t dropped my phone in the toilet. I mean, I could’ve walked away from him if I’d had it with me.

Or maybe not.

Maybe it was all over the first time he saw me, and he would’ve found another way. Probably—if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Shade always gets what he wants, and apparently he wanted me.

Right from the first.

With Shade’s Lady, Joanna Wylde delivers a tantalizing tale of loyalty, lust and love that will leave you begging for more. This 1001 Dark Nights novella is the perfect addition to the Reapers MC series and a fun, sexy look at Shade, their national President. I absolutely loved getting to know this gritty, alpha biker and I found myself sucked right back into the Reapers MC world. Joanna Wylde has an incredible talent for maintaining her own special brand of family with these characters and Shade’s Lady definitely did not disappoint. I loved seeing so many familiar faces and appreciated the unconditional love and unwavering loyalty the brothers continue to demonstrate time and time again. Shade and Mandy, while a seemingly reluctant pair, proved to be the perfect duo and I found myself falling in love with their delightful push and pull as we got to experience their journey.

“How was I in his arms again? Wonder Woman would be so disappointed.”

Mandy was unexpected for sure. As was the way in which she and Shade got together. The beginning of their relationship was awkward, infuriating and so full of heat that I swear this couple left the pages singed. I loved the depth that Joanna Wylde gave Mandy. I hadn’t expected so much heartbreaking history or raw emotion when it came to our feisty heroine, but her personal issues and the things she had endured throughout her life made her the strong, independent ball-buster she undoubtedly was. I enjoyed getting to know her sister and nieces and felt like seeing them all together gave me a better idea of the kind of woman Mandy really was. Shade was also a constant surprise. His chivalry, protective instincts and unspoken need to claim Mandy for his own left me absolutely swooning. I loved how easily she pushed Shade’s buttons and yet he couldn’t help but be completely enthralled by her. Not only did Shade and Mandy share an obvious chemistry, but there was also evidence of something deeper between them from the very beginning that ensured I was totally hooked on their journey.

“I’m not sayin’ I’ll never need a getaway car, but if I do, I sure as shit won’t trick my woman into driving it.”

Joanna Wylde did a fantastic job balancing the sinfully sexy moments with all of the action, intrigue and honest emotions of this story. I was easily captivated from the very beginning and devoured Shade and Mandy’s story in no time at all. There was a great mix of personal growth, relationship development and MC adventure in Shade’s Lady. Joanna Wylde definitely knows how to overlap each area of the storyline to build something thrilling and memorable. I couldn’t have guessed how Mandy’s family life would play into Shade’s MC world but I adored watching it all unravel. The collision of their two worlds made for a significant journey that overflowed with genuine emotion and sizzled at all the right moments. Of course, I would love to know more about Shade, how he got to where he was, and what else was in store for him and Mandy. I suppose that’s the genius of this incredibly talented author though – she always leaves me desperate for more. Well written, perfectly paced, and full of feels, Shade’s Lady is another unforgettable Reapers MC romance from Joanna Wylde.

“Did you get my text?” Sara asked, pushing through the office door. I’d just finished tying my apron around my waist, and was leaning toward the cracked mirror on the wall for one last makeup check before punching in.

“No,” I replied, frowning. “Dropped my cell in the toilet this morning. I called the phone people. They said I didn’t have any insurance, so I’m fucked. I put it on Future Me’s list of things to worry about.”

Sadly, Future Me’s list got longer every day. She was supposed to pay our credit card bill, figure out whether we should break up with our boyfriend, and find a better place to sleep than my sister’s couch. She also needed to lose ten pounds and magically fix the rusted-out Kia Sedona currently broken down in my sister’s yard.

Present Me would’ve felt guilty about dumping all this on the poor thing, but I only had three minutes left to punch in and start slinging drinks for drunken bikers, so it would just have to wait.

Yup. I’m organized like that.

Studying my reflection, I ran an eye down the length of my body. Tight tank with a hint of bra showing? Check. (Nothing like some boob action to bring in the tips. Not only that, Rebel had said he’d be here tonight, and he always liked seeing the girls.)

Lipstick was bright and shiny, no smudges on the teeth. More eye makeup than I’d usually wear, but ever since I’d started hanging out with Rebel’s biker friends, I’d kicked it up a notch. Made me look wild and sexy. Not gonna lie—I liked this new me. I liked her a lot. I guess if there was one good thing about my sister’s life falling apart—and me moving to Violetta to help with the kids—it was that it’d forced me to change my life, too.

A 1001 Dark Nights & Sweet Cheeks companion novella
Release Date: February 28, 2017

sweet-rivalry-cover

Synopsis

Ryder Rodgers had a plan.

He was going to stride into the conference room, do the required song and dance over the next five days, and win the biggest contract of his career. But when he walked in and heard the voice of one of his competitors, all his plans were shot to hell.

Harper Denton. She was always on top. In college. First in their class. Always using every advantage to edge him out to win the coveted positions. The only one who could beat him. His academic rival. More like a constant thorn in his side. And his ego’s.

When he heard her voice, he was brought back to years before. To the bitter taste of being second best. But the woman who meets his gaze is nothing like the drab wallflower he used to know. Hell no. She was all woman now: curves, confidence, and staggering sex appeal. And no doubt, still brilliant.

The fact that she’s gorgeous and bright won’t distract him. This time, Ryder’s determined to be the one on top. But not if Harper can help it.

Bs Review

Bromberg delivers a sexy, sweet romance with a competitive edge in Sweet Rivalry – Ryder and Harper’s story. After meeting Ryder in Sweet Cheeks, I was totally intrigued. He was smart, loyal, loving and in control – qualities I definitely wanted to explore in a more intimate setting. K. Bromberg didn’t disappoint, serving up plenty of intelligent charm, witty banter, and delicious sexual tension in this tantalizing novella. Constantly challenging one another, Ryder and Harper were the perfect match. They left me reeling from their verbal sparring matches and raring for more of their feisty flirtations. Sassy, sizzling and full of feels, Sweet Rivalry is the perfect companion to Sweet Cheeks and a fun, quick read for fans of this talented author.

“Just in case you were wondering, beard burn is a real thing.”

I absolutely adored the dynamic between Harper and Ryder. Part second chance and part friends-to-lovers romance, this duo had a frenemies vibe that made me grin. Their undeniable chemistry was obvious from the start – a sparkling force that made the pages absolutely sizzle and kept me reading until I’d completely devoured this story. There was also something deeper that rested beneath the surface, hints of a more significant connection that kept me riveted and rooting for Harper and Ryder’s happily ever after. Ryder was book boyfriend perfection in all of his slightly arrogant and delightfully devious glory while Harper was the kind of fierce, independent heroine it was impossible not to love.

“A princess may not need to be saved, but she sure as shit needs to take a ride on that unicorn she’s found every once in a while. He’ll remind her she needs to live instead of staying locked up tight in that tower of hers.”

In addition to simply wanting more of Harper and Ryder, I would have liked to see this couple address the issues in the past that kept them apart until now. More specifically, the kiss they shared back in school and Harper’s misconceptions about Ryder and the woman who interrupted what could have been a turning point in their relationship. While it wasn’t necessary to my enjoyment of the story, it felt like the one string hanging between them that never got tied up. Honestly, I think I’m just greedy and desperately want to see Harper and Ryder get a full-length novel that dives deep and gives them the kind of happily ever after that leaves a girl utterly swooning.

“And when in the hell did preppy-boy Ryder Rodgers transform into that mythical guy who hits every single one of my buttons?”

Sweet Rivalry surprised me with its unique and intelligent storyline. I felt like I learned something from Harper and Ryder’s work and I definitely enjoyed the bidding war that got personal in all the best ways. K. Bromberg never ceases to blow me away with her colorful characters, brilliant imagery, entertaining dialogue and genuine emotions. Sweet Rivalry was well written, perfectly paced and left me begging for more of this memorable pair. Bromberg made me laugh, feel and fall in love with a well-practiced ease indicative of not only her unquestionable talent for story building, but also her unparalleled ability to connect with her readers and mesmerize them with her wickedly wonderful words. Sweet Rivalry was hilarious, hot and full of heart – an addictive addition to K. Bromberg’s Sweet Cheeks world and a fun, sassy standalone novella that’s not to be missed!

Cs Review

Once again, K. Bromberg has weaved an addictive tale with sizzling characters that left me wanting nothing but more, more, more. Sweet Rivalry is filled with sexual tension that practically oozes off the pages, to the point that it took on a personality of its own. The way that the author described the looks between Harper and Ryder left my heart rate increasing and anxiously turning the pages to see the explosion.

“Regardless of who she is––a competitor, a friend, a lover, or even all three combined––I prefer a woman who’s strong.”

There was just something about these characters that I couldn’t help but instantaneously fall for. Harper was so strong-headed that she dominated the scenes she was in. I loved that she was a female in a male’s world, yet never let her confidence in her abilities or herself diminish. There was something admirable about that unwavering spirit that resonated deep within me. On the other hand, I adored that it was Ryder who questioned the scenarios these two found themselves in. He was confident in his own abilities but was utterly mystified by this woman, and it made for such a refreshing and fun read. Between their banter, the chemistry, and the unique storyline, Bromberg stole my heart – hook, line, sinker.

“Someone I can debate with, a woman who can hold her own in an intelligent conversation, and one I can verbally spar with. I want to be met match for match.”

Sweet Rivalry is one of those charming novellas where you just find yourself grinning from ear to ear, consumed by the romance between the characters. My biggest complaint about this novella was of course that it was just too short! The way that their relationship exploded was just the beginning and I’d love to see more. Bromberg sure knows how to reel this reader in and I certainly can’t wait for whatever she delivers next!

Excerpt

Work first. Reward sex next.

That’ll give me something to look forward to during the next few days. The ones I can’t wait to dive headfirst into that will be an ever-changing combination of stress, exhaustion, strategy, and manipulation. An unscripted dance amongst us bidders while we size each other up, calculate our numbers, and explain to the developer why we’re the most valuable candidate for the job.

It’s the game I love. The competition I thrive on. My return to the job that I’ve been desperate to make.

And there’d be no better way to make a statement that Harper Denton is back than to leave this building with the multimillion dollar contract for Meteor Development tucked securely under my arm.

And just like that, as a reward for my positive thinking, when I look up, there he is, in full view.

I take in the expensive briefcase, the venti Starbucks, and the expensive watch peeking out from beneath the cuff of his shirt. And just my luck that while I’m afforded a full view of his body, the one thing I’m the most curious about is obscured by his hand holding his cell phone up to his ear: his face.

So instead I drink him in. He really is magnificent. I note his posture and the way he carries his body when he moves forward a few steps. There’s an air about him that says he’s no-nonsense and in control, powerful, and at the same time he doesn’t seem uptight. He has that Southern

California professional vibe. I can’t put my finger on it but he reminds me of someone I can’t quite place. Regardless, a man who can pull off being in control and playful has definite merits.

Like “spank me until my body aches in want, and then make a game of hitting each erogenous zone with his tongue before he’ll satisfy that ache he created and let me come” type of merits.

The mind-blowing-sex reward just became even more appealing.

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Since then she has written The Driven Series (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced, Aced), the standalone Driven Novels (Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, and Down Shift), and a novella (UnRaveled). She is currently finishing up Sweet Cheeks a standalone novel out November 14th.

Her plans for 2017 include a sports romance duet (2 books: The Player, The Catch) and the Everyday Heroes series (3 books: Cuffed, Combust, and Cockpit). She’s also writing a novella for the 1,001 Dark Night series that will be out in February 2017.
