RELEASE DAY – Total Exposure by JA Huss

Title – Total Exposure
Author – J.A. Huss
Publication Date – January 16, 2018
Series – Jordan’s Game #1

Not everyone needs a master.
Not everyone needs to really live, either.
Some people are content to be a participant in the game of life.
Others want to play for real.
If you want to play for real, come to me, lovely.
I’ll give you that little push you need.
I’ll open your mind, and your world, and soul.
Lay you bare. Let you feel the heat of my stare.
Take you places you’ve never been before.
Your body is my chessboard, sweets.
And if you give in to me, and you play, you might even win.
It’s just… your prize might not be what you went looking for.

Yet again, JA Huss has blown me out of the water with her newest release! Everytime I think that I know what to expect from her, she throws me a twist that leaves me begging for more (and yes, I’m aware that I feel like I say this with every book). Total Exposure was so different from any of her previous works, yet still contained the signature Huss style that I’ve come to know and love. The standalone in the brand new series was sexy, intriguing, and utterly addicting with characters facing unique issues in a setting unlike anything I’ve encountered before.

“How about it, Miss Rolaine? Would you like to play a game?”

Evangeline and Ix had one of the most interesting relationship dynamics and I couldn’t get enough of them. With a plot like this, every reader needs to experience it for themselves, so I won’t divulge too much information. However, I will say that for two characters who spent so little time together, their chemistry was off the charts. There was a slow burn to their relationship that led to an unparalleled trust between the hero and heroine. The way that their individual stories unfolded was nothing short of intense and took readers on a spectacular journey.

“I was just a number. A diamond ring made to sing then forsaken and left shaken.”

Total Exposure took me by complete surprise with how much I enjoyed it, especially given that the characters and their situation were a tad unconventional. However, with the way that Huss is able to paint her stories, I’m not sure how I am still shocked with emotion every single time I finish one. Each book is unique with a fresh storyline and characters that feel more like friends than words on a page. There’s always a mind-twist with exceptional writing that delivers on every level. If you haven’t been introduced to this author’s work yet, I can’t recommend it enough – and Total Exposure is a great place to start!
