The Island awaits your return
Ties severed too soon.
What was real?
What was fantasy?
Two lost souls.
Two broken hearts.
One deserted island.
I’ll find you, she said.
I’ll be waiting, he replied.
Return to the island to discover the truth.
L.B. Dunbar delivers the breathtaking conclusion to Tack and Juliet’s story with Return to the Island. After the way Redemption Island ended, I felt anxious, empty, and in desperate need of answers. Tack and Juliet’s journey was so unique and intriguing that I hated not knowing what was real and how their story would play out. Luckily, L.B. Dunbar didn’t leave readers hanging for long and Return to the Island was as sweet and satisfying as it was sexy and surprising. The chemistry between Tack and Juliet was as palpable as ever and I loved the tension that built as they danced around one another, unsure as to what their time apart truly meant for them.
“One night, everything was stripped away. Another night, a promise of something more stitched her back together.”
Juliet showed tremendous character growth since the first book. She was stronger, more sure, and completely self-sufficient. I appreciated her independent spirit and the genuinely kind heart she repeatedly demonstrated despite everything she had endured. I was able to connect with her in entirely new ways throughout this book and that made rooting for her absolutely effortless. Tack, on the other hand, seemed to become an entirely new person in this novel. Gone was the confused man driven by greed and lust and in his place was a strong, powerful man who knew what he wanted and was willing to work to get it. Where I found Tack to be enticing before, Return to the Island introduced me to an utterly swoon-worthy hero deserving of Juliet’s heart.
“She was her own island, adrift in the sea of life. Content, but not happy. Stable, but not firmly planted. Lying in wait like the island they left behind.”
Filled with colorful characters and vibrant imagery, Return to the Island was paced to be devoured. L.B. Dunbar’s writing was gripping, bursting with emotion, and utterly one-of-a-kind. The conclusion to Tack and Juliet’s journey didn’t just take readers back to the island, but had the couple facing totally new challenges together. I adored the secondary characters and all that they added to the storyline. There were so many unexpected dimensions to this book and I enjoyed seeing each one push Tack and Juliet in a new direction and develop them both as individuals and as a couple. I laughed. I blushed. I cursed. I swooned. Return to the Island was everything I’d hoped it would be for Tack and Juliet and so much more!
