Title: In Your Dreams
Author: Ginger Scott
Series: Falling #4 (standalone)
Release Date: March 29, 2016
Casey Coffield has a growing list of personal flaws he keeps locked away in his head:
He’s never on time.
His list of IOUs to his best friend is endless.
Money is always short.
Goals are never in reach.
Oh, and he’s decided to add college drop-out to that list, too. He doesn’t really think that last one’s such a bad thing, but his family insists it is, so it stays on the list.
On paper, he’s a zero. But in person, when he’s mixing tracks for a sea of bodies at the hottest clubs and parties, he’s downright irresistible. Just-right stubble on his chin, body of a boxer and a smirk that stimulates all the right nerves—women have never been a problem. They flock to his swagger and fall for his charm…fast.
All except for this one.
Purple hair, gray eyes, a raspy voice and sass, Murphy Sullivan is a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. And her and Casey? They have history. He can’t remember it, but she wrote a song about him—and it’s not exactly a love song. But it is good. Damn good. And uncovering her inspiration just might be the key to solving a few of his shortcomings—not to mention open doors to his own big break in the music industry.
But sometimes dreams get messy when they collide. Sometimes life changes patterns. A past paints the wrong picture and futures get cloudy. The only question that remains is who will you choose when the dust settles—you? Or the girl of your dreams?
I’m unequivocally in love with Casey Coffield! Ginger Scott has once again written a beautiful, unexpected, and heartfelt story that will hook you from the very first page. Casey and Murphy are fresh, feisty, and original – a combination that was undeniably addictive! This couple shares a brief history that remains a mystery for a large part of the story and I’ll admit, this definitely had me intrigued. However, it was the unexpected yet palpable connection between Casey and Murphy that had me devouring this story at record speed. Ginger Scott has created something truly special with these two, delivering an unspoken but undeniably significant emotional connection, along with the delicious sparks of unexplored chemistry, to her readers. With this novel, I find myself an even bigger fan of this incredible author. For whatever reason Ginger Scott just seems to get me, her words reaching right into my chest and expertly playing on my heartstrings until I’m happily lost inside the pages of her novel. In Your Dreams perfectly captures the spirit of the new adult genre, bringing together two seemingly opposite personalities through their shared love of music and delivering a coming of age story that is a brilliant blend of sweet, sexy, sarcastic, and smart.
“This girl is the key to everything I want to do. She’s barely swaying in front of me, her eyes closed and my phone clutched in her palm, my dreams held right along with them.”
Murphy is a girl after my own heart. She works hard and dreams big but her insecurities keep her from getting where she wants to go. Over the course of the story, Ginger Scott dives deep with this character, allowing her relationship with Casey to encourage self-discovery and spark incredible emotional growth. I loved watching Murphy come into her own and respect the way in which Ginger Scott embraced Murphy’s developing inner strength and independence, even if it meant choosing herself over everyone else. By allowing this character to make mistakes and be vulnerable, Ginger Scott delivers a heroine who is lovable, relatable, and entirely genuine. Where Murphy is shy and unsure, Casey is cocky, loud, and lives unapologetically in pursuit of his dreams. As Murphy learns to choose herself where it counts, Casey faces the challenge of putting someone else first. Between his work with Murphy and his rapidly devolving family issues, Ginger Scott puts this eternal frat boy through the wringer. The resulting character growth ensured that my initial crush on Casey’s devastating charm and easy swagger turned into a full-blown love affair with his unexpected self-sacrifice and beautiful soul.
“Maybe he isn’t as selfish as everybody thinks – as I think. Maybe he just needs someone who’s willing to walk through the fire with him and hold him through the ugly parts. Maybe I’m stronger than I think.”
I absolutely loved the premise of this story. Ginger Scott has a true talent for developing storylines that are unique, captivating, and oftentimes inspiring. I was moved by the message behind this story and quickly fell in love with the characters’ relentless pursuit of their dreams. Ginger Scott layers Casey and Murphy’s joint journey with their individual struggles, giving this book a multi-dimensionality that was utterly enthralling and ensured plenty of plot twists awaited the reader. Ginger Scott skillfully utilized her secondary characters to enhance the emotional weight of the story and help further unravel Casey and Murphy. I adored seeing a little more of Houston and Paige in this novel. Their great banter with Casey had me falling in love with them all over again. Ginger Scott’s writing is pure magic! She weaves a spell that never fails to enchant me and In Your Dreams was certainly no exception. I was mesmerized by the intelligent humor, easy banter, and vibrant imagery Ginger Scott so easily conjured on each and every page of this stunning story. This novel is a must read for anyone who has ever chased a dream and all of you out there still chasing.
She breathes in slowly, rolling on her back and stretching her arms over her head. The black T-shirt she’s wearing rides up enough that I see her sides and bare stomach above her low-slung jeans, and I think to myself how far I’ve come. Any other girl, some other place and time, and I would be switching gears right now, capitalizing, because I always get the girl. I just don’t always keep the girl. They learn things, grow tired of me, or, more often, I am bored and done before anything has a chance. It’s never been the right girl, really. But Murphy…she’s a keep kind of girl. And this whole thing started because she hates me, so patience is necessary. But I have had my hand on that stomach. I’ve felt how warm her skin is through layers of fabric. I bet her skin is searing bare.
Patience isn’t a virtue. Patience is a murderer of six-foot-one fools desperate to kiss girls who sing like angels and look like my dreams.

Ginger Scott is an Amazon-bestselling author of eight young and new adult romances, including Waiting on the Sidelines, Going Long, Blindness, How We Deal With Gravity, This Is Falling, You and Everything After, Wild Reckless and The Girl I Was Before.
A sucker for a good romance, Ginger’s other passion is sports, and she often blends the two in her stories. (She’s also a sucker for a hot quarterback, catcher, pitcher, point guard…the list goes on.) Ginger has been writing and editing for newspapers, magazines and blogs for more than 15 years. She has told the stories of Olympians, politicians, actors, scientists, cowboys, criminals and towns.
When she’s not writing, the odds are high that she’s somewhere near a baseball diamond, either watching her son field pop flies like Bryce Harper or cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ginger lives in Arizona and is married to her college sweetheart whom she met at ASU (fork ’em, Devils).
