Rylee and Colton’s ride continues…
One moment. Six years ago.
The night she made the world around me so much more than just a blur. Now it’s the catalyst that threatens to tear us apart.
Our happily was supposed to be ever after. So why do I feel like it’s slipping through my fingers?
How can one moment, when our world seemed so right, resurface and cause our perfect life to spiral out of control?
I can’t lose her.
She’s my checkered flag.
I’m pretty sure that every Driven series fan had their curiosity piqued after the Epilogue of Crashed. In true fashion, I was among them and dying to know what happened in that ten year span between the last chapter and the Epilogue. I ached to see how they got their happily ever after that we were presented. When Kristy announced that she’d be writing Aced, which takes place in that time period, I was over the moon with excitement. Now that I’ve finished it, I have a deeper appreciation for Colton and Rylee, as well as the relationship that Bromberg chose to portray.
“This is marriage; being who you are while being what your partner needs when they need it the most. Stepping up while they need to step out.”
Their story is one that I could relate to on multiple levels, but particularly with Colton’s background. I appreciated seeing the way his ghosts reappeared and had to be fought through in Aced. When I had my daughter, I went through something very similar to his character. so It brought the story to life for me and made it feel that much more realistic. His emotions and his battles are ones I’ve fought, which allowed me to empathize with his character – which I don’t often get to do with the hero of a story.
“Parents give your their genes but don’t make the person you become.”
What excited me the most about Aced was the route that Bromberg chose to take Colton and Rylee’s story. With the way we fell in love with the couple, and the ups and downs of the first three books in the series, I think it would have been very easy to fall into a cotton candy love induced haze. She could have taken readers on the honeymoon phase and let that be that. However, I felt that Bromberg really did her readers justice with the release of Aced. She gave us gritty, raw heartbreak. She delivered a steamy, erotic read that reminded us how much we constantly feel their passion. Not to mention, she provided these heartfelt, joyous moments that lifted my heart. In sum, she gave us the characters that we have come to know, love, and embrace as our own, but elevated to another level.
“Because it’s the things we love most that destroy us. Break us down. Tear us apart. But they are also the things that build us back up. Heal us. Make us complete again.”
I always look forward to a new release from this author, but there was something extra special that I adored about Aced. Getting to revisit these two characters and see into their “between period” proved to be a great gift from K .Bromberg! If you’re a fan of the series, I definitely don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines and damaged heroes who we love to hate and hate to love.
She’s a mixture of most of her female characters: sassy, intelligent, stubborn, reserved, outgoing, driven, emotional, strong, and wears her heart on her sleeve. All of which she displays daily with her husband and three children where they live in Southern California.
On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Since then she has written The Driven Series (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced), the standalone Driven Novels (Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, Aced, and a short story titled UnRaveled.
She is currently working on new projects and a few surprises for her readers.
