Royal Marriage Market

Synopsis

Every decade, the world’s monarchs and their heirs secretly convene to discuss global politics and social issues—and arrange marriages between kingdoms.

Elsa may be the Hereditary Princess of Vattenguldia, but she finds the entire situation archaic and unsavory. While she wants what’s best for her country, she isn’t about to jump into an unwanted relationship—let alone a marriage—with a virtual stranger. Of course, her feelings matter little to her parents, whose wheeling and dealings over trade pacts and alliances achieved at her expense begin the moment they set foot in California for the Summit. So when a blindingly handsome royal runs into her, she doesn’t hesitate to tell him there’s no way she’s marrying him.

Christian is all too happy to agree: no marriage. As the Hereditary Grand Duke of Aiboland, his main goal is to get through the summit without a bride being foisted on him. Which is why he suggests they help each other field potential intendeds. As Christian slowly gets to know Elsa, though, he realizes they have a lot more in common than just their feelings about the Royal Marriage Market. Only he can’t fall for her, because royal or not, they’re not meant for each other.

Elsa and Christian will have to evaluate matters of the heart verses those of state and crown, and decide whether or not tradition trumps love.

Bs Review

Royal Marriage Market is utterly enchanting, the perfect blend of humor and heart set amongst the polished and regimented world of international royalty and their rebellious heirs. As the twenty-first century clashes with the traditions of the crown, Heather Lyons delivers a story that is intelligent, witty, and absolutely addictive. When Elsa and Christian joined together in their common distaste of the Royal Marriage Market, I knew things were about to get interesting. From the moment they met, these two had a palpable connection, something heady that clouded their clear-cut sense of defiance. Their easy flirtations, sparkling chemistry, and witty repartee was intoxicating, pulling me deeper and deeper into their mesmerizing world and securing my investment in their happily ever after. Heather Lyons’ writing is simply magical, demonstrating a regal command of descriptive imagery and an unparalleled understanding of lyrical prose that had her words coming to life and deeply embedding themselves inside me.

“I am officially in medieval, locked-in-a-tower, princess hell.”

Falling for Elsa and Christian was effortless. Heather Lyons has created two memorable characters with these royals. Elsa was a girl after my own heart, stubborn, intelligent, and fierce. Her sense of humor and outspoken nature gave her a familiarity that I just adored. Despite being heir to a throne, she came across as fun, quirky, and passionate, someone genuinely flawed, insecure, and surprisingly relatable. Christian on the other hand was deliciously swoon-worthy. He shared Elsa’s lack of enthusiasm for the RMM along with her loyal dedication to country. Repeatedly proving himself to be smart, adventurous, and unbelievably sweet, Christian stole my heart away in no time at all. This prince charming is book boyfriend perfection and easily one of my favorite male characters of all-time. Heather Lyons did a phenomenal job unraveling this couple over the course of the story, their individual growth and naturally developing relationship providing this couple a tangibility that was undeniably enthralling.

“You don’t have to go quietly, with no say. These aren’t the Middle Ages, no matter what the Monarch Council believes. We are not pawns to be moved across a chessboard, all in hopes of bettering future moves for themselves.”

Royal Marriage Market is a fresh and flirty modern day fairy tale that definitely delivers. Perfectly paced, Heather Lyons had me devouring this book, desperate for more of this phenomenal couple and the vibrant world she has so expertly crafted. Christian and Elsa’s journey is full of surprises, unexpected plot twists and scrumptiously intense moments that made my heart race and falter. This story explores the precarious balance between upholding tradition and ruling with social relevance while realizing the true power of the up and coming generation – future monarchs with hearts and minds of their own. Infused with emotion, Royal Marriage Market will make you laugh and tug on your heartstrings, gifting readers with an unforgettable reading experience. Heather Lyons has thoroughly bewitched me with her magical world or scheming monarchs, feisty heirs, and secret agendas. Definitely one of my favorite books of the year, Royal Marriage Market is wonderfully charming.

Cs Review

I started my Heather Lyons excursion with her Collectors’ Society series, which quickly became one of my all-time favorites. Needless to say, I knew the bar would be pretty dang high for anything else I chose to take a chance on by her. Well, I don’t know what super powers she possesses, but boy was this woman born to write. Royal Marriage Market is a charming modern day royal romance that left me swooning and smiling from ear to ear. It was an utterly addicting package wrapped up in a perfect little bow.

“I do not even require a prince, let alone a charming one. My life is one of service. Responsibility. Importance. When the day comes and I assume the throne, I simply wish somebody I love to be in my corner. And if I cannot find that, I would rather not marry.”

I’ve never been one to follow modern day royalty, but there was something about Elsa and Christian’s story that really intrigued me. I found myself developing an interest for the political matchmaking scenarios that they found themselves in within the Royal Marriage Market. These two characters were so spunky and fun that you couldn’t help but root for them. Their banter was absolutely hilarious and had a youthful, playful quality to it. Through the way Lyons presents these two characters, readers can easily understand how it is that they were able to fall in love so quickly. I was certainly having my heart stolen right alongside the two of them.

“I want more. I want that spark, that flame to petrol.”

If there is one thing that I can confidently say about Heather Lyons, it’s that she knows how to transport readers to an entirely new world. With Royal Marriage Market, she has given readers a blend of modern with tradition, romance with obligation, and youth with maturity. Her characters have lives that I will never fully comprehend, yet that I understood on an emotional level. It was extraordinary and a refreshing breath of air in the romance genre. Heather Lyons is a true master of her craft. She was born to write and it shows through every single feeling drawn out in Royal Marriage Market.

“I have never, ever craved to kiss a woman more than in this moment. I’m freezing my arse off, we’ve broken into a historic landmark, and there’s a chance we could get caught, and all I want to do is just hail her in my arms and press my mouth against hers until we both forget our titles, followed by countless hours learning every centimeter of her body.”

For those readers who may be skeptical because of a hint of historical, you have nothing to worry about. Royal Marriage Market is ground firmly in the modern day with unforgettable characters, and an even more wonderful storyline. This standalone novel has all the elements that will leave readers satisfied yet yearning for more because it was just that good. Everything I read from Lyons is so different from anything else I’ve come across and it’s that quality that has earned a faithful reader in me. I can’t wait to see where she’ll take us next!
