Title: Seduce Me
Author: Ryan Michele
Series: Ravage MC #2
Release Date: June 8, 2014
Casey Alexander grew up part of the Ravage Motorcycle family since the day she was abandoned by her mother and thrown into her father’s lap. Always seeing herself as an outsider, she spent her whole life trying to fit in, but never really succeeding. When she loses her beloved father, the utter aloneness engulfs her, leaving her searching for solace in the one man she’s always craved. Confessing her love for him only results in devastation when he pushes her away. Convinced she needs a fresh start, she leaves everything behind in order to mend her broken heart and begin building a future without him.
Gage Thomas (G.T.) Gavelson fell in love with his Angel when he was just a pint sized kid. Both beautiful and smart, he always felt she deserved so much better than him. Growing up beside her in the club only continued to test his will power, until one night, he gave into temptation. Realizing he couldn’t allow himself to hold her back from the life she deserved, he pushed her away, allowing her to believe she would never be enough for him. Letting her go had been the hardest thing he’d ever done. Even though he’d thought it’d been the right thing to do, not a day goes by that misery doesn’t consume him for it.
When a tragic shootout occurs, everything changes as once again their lives are intermingled. When you find your way back to the one person you are meant to be with, forgiveness should be easy. But sometimes, we hurt each other too much to ever be able to forgive.
Is their love strong enough to heal their pain?
Ryan Michele has really managed to impress me with Seduce Me. Her incredible growth as an author is evident throughout this book, consistently demonstrating how far she’s come since Ravage Me. A lot of the plot and pacing problems I had with Ravage Me were total nonissues in Seduce Me and I found myself so much more invested in this story. I knew G.T. and Casey were in for one hell of a ride, but Ryan Michele managed to take their journey to a whole new level. I was shocked by the unexpected emotional weight of Casey and G.T.’s personal journey, thrilled by their explosive chemistry, and floored by moments of utter devastation. I loved seeing more of Cruz and Harlow along with the rest of the Ravage MC crew, and getting to know Casey and G.T. on a deeper level was undoubtedly satisfying. Seduce Me is emotional, hard-hitting, surprising, and unquestionably sexy, easily casting it’s MC spell over me and pulling me into this thrilling novel.
“There are days where I collapse and cry, but the kicker is, I pull myself up and continue going. Continue moving. Continue living.”
Getting inside G.T.’s head was something I desperately wanted to do after seeing the bits and pieces of him in Ravage Me. Ryan Michele certainly didn’t disappoint, unraveling this man so completely over the course of the book. Ryan Michele allows us to see G.T. wrapped up in a spectrum of feelings as he tries to work out his relationship with Casey and his evolving roll in the club. Exploring this character and discovering his true emotional depth was heartwarming, especially when we got to glance the softer, vulnerable side of G.T. Casey just totally stole the show for me. Despite her insistence to the contrary, Casey really does exhibit incredible strength. Watching her step beyond the life she’s always known and facing down gut-wrenching realities allowed me to connect with her in a truly special way. With Casey, Ryan Michele has written a character that is raw, insecure, and realistically flawed, providing readers with the opportunity to witness absolutely exquisite character growth.
“There is no one else for me. You are it. You are the reason I breathe. You are the reason I live.”
The storyline in Seduce Me kept me riveted. While the club faced some seriously intense threats and concerning safety issues, G.T. and Casey’s personal journey ran in parallel, providing an easy balance between the action and romance. Ryan Michele kept me on my toes, constantly wondering what awaited the MC around the next corner or if G.T. and Casey would ever find their happily ever after. Seduce Me also boasted an unforeseen poignancy that filled my heart with warmth. As Casey moved beyond the MC lifestyle, we got to see her searching for her place in the outside world. The conflicting emotions she experienced and the discovery of the true meaning of family was touching, giving me a deeper understanding of the dynamics Ryan Michele has created in the Ravage MC world. Seduce Me was a fantastic addition to the series and definitely one worth reading. You’ll laugh, swoon, hold your breath, and fall in love with the Ravage MC in no time.
