Synopsis

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart-and her virginity-to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious-her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands-with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club-to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way.

Review

Reaper’s Legacy is Ruger’s story and it was every bit the raw, gritty, intense, and emotional journey I’d expected. Joanna Wylde officialy has me hooked on this series and there is no turning back now! Ruger and Sophie have a long history, related through Sophie’s son, Noah, who also happens to be Ruger’s nephew. Ruger’s determination to take care of her and Noah means keeping her close and letting her into his world. As Sophie tries to navigate the MC lifestyle, Ruger is forced to confront his feelings for her and the result is utterly explosive. These two fought hard and loved harder, simultaneously driving me crazy and warming my heart. Joanna Wylde has created an incredible dynamic between these two that was strongly rooted in family. Reaper’s Legacy explored the meaning of loyalty and unconditional love both in and out of the club, resulting in a story that overflowed with the comfort and safety of finding your true family.

“Things had changed between us in a profound way, something I think we both knew.”

At first glance, Ruger appears to be the typical alpha biker book boyfriend. He’s promiscuous, controlling, demanding, and unapologetic. There were times where I wanted to punch him in the face, specifically when he demanded Sophie obey his rules while he was free to do whatever (or whoever) he wanted. As the story progressed, Joanna Wylde unraveled this complicated man and allowed reader’s to discover a character with unexpected depth. Ruger’s relationship with Noah will have your heart melting. Nothing is sexier than seeing a big bad biker turn to mush with a child. Sophie, on the other hand, has not had it easy. Her struggle is palpable from the beginning and I quickly found myself feeling for her. Around Ruger she seemed to find her strength, surprising me with her feisty and independent nature. I loved watching her push back, eventually taking a stand and a controlling hand in her own life. Her growth as a character over the course of this novel was staggering and I couldn’t have been happier with the way Joanna Wylde developed this character.

“Nothing says “commitment” like accessory to murder.”

Sophie’s history with Ruger’s stepbrother remains a mystery for a good part of the story but as the pieces of the puzzle come together, we’re left with a harsh truth that clearly haunts both Sophie and Ruger. Their guilt, devastation, and undeniable attraction makes for a situation that can only be described as volatile. Reaper’s Legacy packed some seriously intense heat, ensuring this book was one I couldn’t put down. Joanna Wylde has done an incredible job with the overarching MC plotline that connects the books in this series. I loved seeing old characters again and found myself immediately caught up in the MC drama. The Reapers MC was in for a rough ride with this one and I had no trouble finding myself consumed by the suspense right from the start. This book was simply thrilling, taking several twists and turns I never saw coming. Filled with beautifully rough, charming characters and an addictive storyline, Reaper’s Legacy is everything you could want in a MC romance and more! I can’t wait to see what Joanna Wylde has in store for the Reapers next.
