Redemption Road

Looking for a walk on the wild side, Annabel Percy, the daughter of a powerful politician, starts dating a biker she knows is completely wrong for her. But she finds herself living a nightmare when she’s kidnapped and transported into a hell on earth she never could have imagined.

Born and bred into the Hells Raiders MC, Nathaniel “Reverend” Malloy lives and dies for his brothers. But when he becomes the unexpected savior of a rival club’s captive, Rev makes it his personal mission to nurse Annabel back to health—and to shelter her from the nightmares that torment her.

Once Annabel heals, she’s stunned to realize she is falling for the seductive man who saved her. Faced with their impossible attraction, can she accept the life he leads, or will Rev walk away from the only life he’s ever known for the woman he was never supposed to love?

Redemption Road_1

Katie Ashley has outdone herself with Redemption Road. Rev and Annabel’s story was utterly heartbreaking and incredibly powerful. Katie Ashley traversed some truly difficult topics with this story and I was impressed by the respect and grace with which she gave them a voice. The writing in this novel is fantastic, pulling me in without hesitation and stirring up a storm of emotions during the journey. The Raiders have me completely hooked and I know without a doubt, I’ll be back for more of this great MC series. I loved seeing Rev, Bishop, and Deacon again. Their sibling relationships ensure that this story contains hilarious antics, relentless teasing, and heartwarming loyalty and love. The Malloy family is truly something special. They brought a pleasant familiarity to this book that made reading Rev’s story feel like coming home.

“You know what a wise man once said? That by showing true repentance for what you have done, you can find redemption. All one has to do is ask for forgiveness to whatever higher power or being you believe in.”

Annabel is one of those characters that you can’t help but be in awe of. Initially I was impressed with her individual strength and the courage she showed in stepping out of her family’s spotlight to pursue her own life. Once tragedy struck and her world turned upside down that strength and courage took on a whole different meaning. The growth that Katie Ashley orchestrates with this character is stunning and I found myself relating to Annabel and connecting with her trials and eventual transformation. Rev completely blew me away. He was this incredible mixture of light and dark, good and bad, possessive and protective. He was unapologetically fierce and yet undeniably sweet. His own scarred past gave him a depth that made this character absolutely shine. Rev’s character evolution stemmed from the way he seemed to heal his own wounds while helping Annabel with hers, resulting in something raw, real, and simply beautiful.

“Deep down, I imagined I could fall in love with Rev Malloy with all of my heart and soul, regardless of the length of time that had passed or the circumstances that had brought us together.”

Redemption Road was definitely a rollercoaster. I was overwhelmed by the intense connection between Rev and Annabel. From the beginning there was an obvious chemistry that drew me to this couple and as their story progressed, evidence of the fire burning beneath their scars and pain was everywhere. As I waited for the inevitable moment when they’d be completely consumed, Katie Ashley kept me enthralled with the suspense of club business and the thrill of revenge. The seriousness of Rev and Annabel’s story was well balanced by the flirtation between them and the good-natured joking from Rev’s MC brothers. This story was all about family. Comparison of Rev’s family to Annabel’s provided a powerful statement about the nature of family and the freedom we have to cultivate our own. With Redemption Road, Katie Ashley delivered a commanding story of healing, heartbreak, and home that is every bit worth the read. I can’t wait to see what she has coming up next for the Malloy brothers!
