Author: Nina Levine
Series: Sydney Storm MC #1
Release Date: February 23, 2015
Evie Bishop grew up loving Kick Hanson. He loved her, too. They were inseparable. Best friends who looked out for each other. Until the day scandal hit their families and ripped everything apart, changing the course of all their lives.
Kick follows a dangerous path that leads him to the Storm MC where he spends his days buried deep in a violent and lawless world that is slowly consuming his soul. Evie works hard to escape the hopelessness that threatens to swallow her after her family is ripped apart. She builds a stable life for herself, however it’s devoid of the one thing she has always longed for – Kick.
The love these two have for each other never wavers but sometimes in life, love isn’t enough. Even in the times they find each other again, they can never make it work. Kick fights against bringing Evie into his world and Evie refuses a life with Kick if he won’t fully commit to her. However, when circumstance throws them together again, Kick knows he must finally make her his. The trouble is, Evie’s done. She loves him but she believes their chance to be together has long passed.
When Kick finally stakes his claim, will Evie relent and give their love another go, or has Kick left it too long to go after the woman who has owned his heart forever?
I am officially in a Kick Hanson hangover! Nina Levine has once again taken the MC romance world by Storm (haha… see what I did there?) with her newest novel, Relent! Relent is the first book in the Sydney Storm MC series, a spin-off of her Storm MC series and I could not be more excited for this new adventure. Nina continues to blow me away with her beautifully complex characters, thrilling storylines, and ability to set the pages on fire with the chemistry she creates. We’ve already gotten a taste of the overarching story that will run throughout the whole series, connecting each book to the next, and I can tell its going to be an intense and exciting ride. Evie and Kick’s story had the perfect balance of heartache and passion, pulling me into their world until I found myself completely consumed by their story.
“I do know you. I know how you like to handle shit you don’t want to deal with. I know you prefer to shut down and not let your feelings out. And I fuckin’ know you feel every-fuckin’-thing deep, babe.”
Evie Bishop is my favorite kind of feisty female lead. Besides her obvious beauty, she is intelligent, loyal, and loves fiercely. She also happens to have a smart mouth that can be absolutely filthy, holding her own with the big bad alpha male in her life. I loved watching her transformation from broken and lost to fearless and sure. Nina Levine made sure this was a woman you could relate to and adore, securing an undeniable connection with the reader. Kick Hanson is everything a delicious alpha male BBF should be. He’s hot as hell, unwavering in his allegiance, and ferociously protective. He also happens to say all the right sexy things to get a girl melting at his feet. I fell harder for Kick with every growl that left his mouth. Between their scorching chemistry, fevered discussions, and the extensive and complicated history tying them together, Nina Levine has created something simply combustible with this couple.
“And I’m in the mood for some fun. Let’s shake this shit up, boys. Let’s show Sydney what the fuck Storm is made of.”
Nina Levine conjured up plenty of feelings from me with Relent. She had me feeling devastated, giddy, furious, and captivated by her words, unable to walk away until it was over. I laughed a lot and found myself lost in the sarcasm and hilarious banter of this story, never wanting it to end. Relent had so much more going on than I could have imagined. Not only was this Evie and Kick’s love story, but Relent was about finding family wherever it may be and fighting to protect it. The juxtaposition of Kick’s family with Evie’s and the Storm MC family painted a highly emotional picture of what it means to stick together. Nina had me on the edge of my seat as their bonds were tested and I’m so anxious to see where she is planning on taking the Sydney Storm MC. I’m already addicted to this crew and curious to hear their stories. Nina Levine has once again managed to pull me in and get me hooked on her fantastic and crazy MC world. Bring on more Storm!
Kick grinned and came towards me, his hands reaching for the button on my jeans. I slapped his hand away. “No,” I said firmly, giving him the evil eye. “You’ve had your fill this morning and I’m all out of orgasms.”
He smirked. “Baby, you are never out of orgasms.”
I raised my brows, trying to look stern. “I am today.”
Crossing his arms over his chest, he said, “So you’ve got a dentist appointment and then what?”
“Then I’ve got work. Why?”
“I’m just trying to figure out how long until I can get my dick out again.” When I smirked, he added, “You don’t seem to realise just what you do to me, Evie.”
I put my hand on my hip, settling in to hear this. “Tell me, Kick, what do I do to you?”
He uncrossed his arms and took the few strides separating us. “You cause an insatiable fuckin’ need in me that I’ve never experienced before. Even if I fucked you all day long, I’d still never get enough.”
My core clenched.
Maybe I did have more orgasms in me today.
He traced my lips and then cupped my cheek before kissing me. “I’m taking you to your appointment and then to work, and then I’m picking you up from work and taking you back to my house. Today we play my way. With my toys,” he growled, and I felt his growl all the way through my body.

When I’m not creating with words you will find me planning my next getaway, visiting somewhere new in the world, having a long conversation over coffee and cake with a friend, creating with paper or curled up with a good book and chocolate.
I love Keith Urban, Maroon 5, Pink, Florida Georgia Line, Bon Jovi, Matchbox 20, Lady Antebellum and pretty much any singer/band that is country or rock.
I’ve been writing since I was twelve. Weaving words together has always been a form of therapy for me especially during my harder times. These days I’m proud that my words help others just as much as they help me.
