Title: 12 Days of Forever
Series: Beaumont Series #4.5
Release Date: February 1, 2015
Even though she’s living her life-long dream and dancing on Broadway, the city is a lonely place for Yvie James. The holidays are both her favorite time of the year and the worst. A last minute decision puts Yvie in Beaumont to spend time with her family
Alexander Knight is new to Beaumont, but he’s making the best of it. His dream of running a successful business is within his grasp, and Xander has a dedicated client base most trainers vie for. On the surface, Xander is happy, but he works long hours for nothing more than to avoid going home to an empty house.
Thrown together for Christmas shopping, holiday gatherings with friends and family, and a special anniversary party, Yvie and Xander find themselves seeking solace in each other for an unforgettable, romantic winter.
All you fans of Heidi McLaughlin’s Beaumont series are in for a treat! Heidi’s newest novella, 12 Days of Forever is a dose of the holidays with your favorite Beaumonters. Harrison’s sister Yvie visits for the holidays and things quickly start to heat up in Beaumont. This book is just the beginning of Xander and Yvie’s story and I have to say, I am way too impatient to wait for the rest of this story. I didn’t realize how much I missed this fabulous family until I got a little taste in this novella. Heidi McLaughlin has a talent for crafting an addictive and enthralling story using few words and this definitely translated in this novella. She managed to pull me in and get me hooked in a short amount of time, leaving me wanting for the next book.
“She does belong here, but she’ll never be here as long as her dream is there.”
I adored Yvie and the transformation Heidi began to take her through in this novella. She clearly has a long way to go in figuring out what it is she wants out of life and where she really belongs, but in a short amount of time, we can see her growing. I already find myself thoroughly invested in her personal journey. Xander is yet another delicious BBF from Heidi and I am definitely ready for more of him. The chemistry that was crafted between these two characters is combustible. Something bigger was undoubtedly brewing between them from the moment they met. I loved seeing the relationships between Yvie and the boys and Xander and the boys. Experiencing how they fit into the whole picture of the series really was satisfying and endeared them to me even more.
“I had to have what everyone else described: the electricity, the fire that burns when you touch the person you’re meant to be with.”
Yvie and Xander’s story is hot and in the short amount of time we spent with them, there were plenty of real emotions coming to life. Their journey is just taking off, but this novella promises that Yvie and Xander’s full-length novel will be a fantastic addition to this series. I loved every bit of holiday fun (and drama) that this story offered and I was honestly sad when this novella ended. Heidi has me craving the next part of this story, enchanted by her fabulous and well-developed characters and the genuine relationships she has nurtured between them. The twists and turns that make you laugh and feel deeply will have you coming back for more.
