Taint Banner

Title: Taint
Author: S.L. Jennings
Series: Sexual Education #1
Release Date: May 19, 2014

Right now, you’re probably asking yourself two things: Who am I? And, what the hell are you doing here? Let’s start with the most obvious question, shall we?

You’re here, ladies, because you can’t f*ck.

Oh, stop it. Don’t cringe. No one under the age of 80 clutches their pearls. You might as well get used to it, because for the next six weeks, you’re going to hear that word a lot. And you’re going to say it a lot. Go ahead, try it out on your tongue. F*ck. F***ck. Ok, good. Now where were we? If you enrolled yourself in this program then you are wholly aware that you’re a lousy lay. Good for you. Admitting it is half the battle. For those of you that have been sent here by your husband or significant other, dry your tears and get over it. You’ve been given a gift, ladies. The gift of mind-blowing, wall-climbing, multiple-orgasm-inducing sex. You have the opportunity to f*ck like a porn star. And I guarantee, you will when I’m done with you.

And who am I? Well, for the next six weeks, I will be your lover, your teacher, your best friend, and your worst enemy. Your every-f*cking-thing. I’m the one who is going to save your relationship and your sex life.

I am Justice Drake.

And I turn housewives into whores. Now…who’s first?

I one-clicked this book for two reasons. One, the cover. I mean, seriously. Two, the synopsis. I didn’t have to read any further; it was hilarious and hot and had me ready to meet Justice Drake in a heartbeat. I loved the premise of this book, an exclusive retreat for rich trophy wives to learn how to be more like the uninhibited whores their husbands prefer to sleep around with (yes, I had to check my moral compass and sense of self-respect at the door, but this is fiction and I don’t read to have my personal beliefs parroted back to me). This pretty much has steam and disaster written all over it and there is nothing I love more than laughing and feeling the heat at the same time. I am glad I clicked this baby. It was a fun, sexy, and surprisingly sweet story that I found myself quickly taking in.

“Welcome to the real game of Life, where we’re all players, but no one ever truly wins.”

Justice Drake is the epitome of an alpha male. He doesn’t do attachments, he’s brusque, unapologetic, in control and he isn’t interested in what a woman can offer him outside of the bedroom. He has managed to use his charm to build a successful business that brings in very wealthy clients. I loved watching this character develop as the story continued. SL Jennings peeled back the many layers that make up Justice Drake as Ally broke through the fortress he’s built around his emotions. SL made sure we knew there was more to him than what he pretends to be with every small gesture or simply, honest statement that exposed a little bit more of his heart.

“I hear the click of the door handle and hope splinters like broken glass, falling away into the land of broken dreams and stolen moments.”

The storyline did not disappoint. It was every bit as steamy and daring as I’d hoped it would be. Ally and Justice’s strange friendship added so much color to this story, while the secrets they were both keeping maintained an air of suspense. I got more and more anxious as I waited for the other shoe to drop and for Ally and Justice to see what was really happening between them. SL Jennings really built up the tension and emotion leading to their moment of truth. The story wrapped up more quickly than I would have liked and I felt like the build up didn’t quite get the passionate ending it deserved. Regardless, Taint was the fun and unexpected dose of alpha male that I needed. I hope this isn’t the last we see of these characters!
