End of Innocence

Title – End of Innocence
Author – Alessandra Torre
Publication Date – March 23, 2014
Series – Innocence #3

He thought I owned him. He thought he loved me, that I was enough. But this animal, this sex god who could drive me crazy and steal my heart in the same breath, he would never fully be mine. It was impossible. No one ever owned a God…

One year. I have one year to find out more about this man I am marrying. More about his family. More about our sex, and all of the dirty, delicious places it will take me.

I thought I’d spend this year making a decision. I never thought the decision would be taken from me, snatched right from my naive little hands.

Before I started reading this book, I knew that it would be a very bittersweet ending for me. I knew that there would be no more Brad and Julia so while I savored every single moment, I also couldn’t put the book down therefore getting through it awfully quickly. Having said that, I felt utterly and completely filled. While I would love getting more of this beautiful couple, I understand that there is only so much an author can write with the same characters before it gets “old” and tiresome.

I loved the even further growth of Brad and Julia. Even with doubts and scary things happening around her, Julia never wavered from her conviction and truth that she knew Brad loved her and was doing this for her. I loved seeing Brad’s realizations of being in love come to fruition and how immensely he grew from the first book. To see him turn into being nervous about how Julia would react from the man who was afraid Julia would become clingy in the first book just showed me how utterly different she made him. I also really appreciated that he continued to push her in all her endeavors. Too many times in books such as these, I see the alpha male wanting to control all aspects of the female’s life or telling her she didn’t have to work, etc. However, Brad continued to convince her to apply to law schools and frame his life around hers. There is something incredibly sexy about that quality in a man! They continued to butt heads and just felt like a real couple making it impossible not to fall in love with them as individual characters, as well as a couple.

I also didn’t feel like this book took away from any of the hot sex in the first couple books. While this one was about so much more, I never felt like I didn’t get enough. It was a balancing act that Alessandra pulled off wonderfully. I would have loved to see a couple loose ends tied up, but that’s a personal preference style. I didn’t think there was any dire information missing, just my curiosity getting the better of me — or my subconscious wanting more! As I stated previously, I’m incredibly sad this trilogy is over and I will no longer have these characters every night. However, I’m also anxious to see what else Alessandra brings to the table. I’m excited to read her other books because her writing is just that good! For anyone who wants a little smut (and HOT as sin sex) with a story line and plot to go with it, the Innocence Trilogy is definitely a must read!
